Principal’s message: I had the pleasure of attending the P&C AGM
this week and I say pleasure because it is
great to see how passionate and productive
our P&C are. They provide an invaluable contribution
to our school and I congratulate the newly elected
committee for 2020.
External Validation: As I mentioned last week the drafting of our submission
for External Validation is well underway and I thank
Mrs Stevenson and fellow 3MAPS Principals for all their
assistance thus far. Enclosed in this newsletter is an
overview of the School Excellence Framework that
each school evaluates itself against for your
information.
Family Survey Please complete and return your survey ASAP. This is
an important piece of the puzzle for our school
improvement processes (including External Validation)
but is also required for our Annual School Report which
is due for completion this term. And don’t be afraid to
share areas where you feel we could improve. That
reflection and information is an important part of the
process. I thank families for their time in completing
this vital feedback.
Changes to routine this week On Wednesday, Mrs Stevenson will be working with
other 3MPAS teachers, doing some professional
learning around writing and curriculum planning. Mrs
Menzies will remain on class.
Thursday Mrs Stevenson will accompany students in
Years 4-6 at the CHHS Robotics Introduction Day (9:30-
1) and Ms Dennis will be teaching students in Years 2-
3 at Johns River Public School. Please ensure your
notes are returned ASAP so we can check and
facilitate any travel arrangements.
On Friday I am attending Professional Learning at
Wauchope so will be out of the school. Friday will
operate as normal, including Kitchen Garden which I’ll
be sorry to miss.
And then we’ll be at Week 8 already! Oh my!!

Premier’s Reading
Challenge The challenge has commenced and
will run from Monday 2nd March to
Friday 28th August 2020. As part of
our library lessons students will be
able to explore the recommended
book lists for their age group and gain access to real
authors who give talks about their characters, their
inspirations, the writing processes and more. For more
information you can visit the PRC website:
https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html
Students, as always are encouraged to return and
borrow library books each Wednesday.
Easter Hat Donations This year we are taking on a challenge of upcycling for
our hat decorations. We will be asking students to
bring in old craft supplies that could be ‘upcycled’ as
decorations for our Easter hats.
Items may include: offcuts of ribbon, old Easter cards
that could be cut up, Easter fabric, wool, old (but not
falling apart too much!) straw hats, and any other craft
supplies that may make nice Easter decorations.
If students could bring these in over the next week we
can finalise our ‘upcycled’ creations.

be taken out at the beginning of the day and heated by
a staff member at lunch time.
As per last year hot meals are $5 each. Please let a staff

leave payment in the school office. Yum!
Cross Country This year our school will again be hosting the 3MAPS
and the LDPSSA Cross Countries. Our P&C will be
running canteens on these days…
The 3MAPS one will be a smaller, however, the LDPSSA
cross country is a larger event and we will require more
volunteers for this. Please consider helping out at one
of these events so we can fundraise for our students.
We will also need cakes / slices to sell at the events so
if you are able to provide some that would be great.
