StrategicAdvance–4CoreCompetencies:SeveraldedicatedChamberDirectors;nowCoreCompetencyChampions,havebeencraftingdetailedplanstosupportwhatyou,ourmembers,saidyouwantedintherecentspring2010membershipsurvey.CarenSvejda(SierraCentralCreditUnion),BillHill(PlumCrazy),KathySchmitz(JobTrainingCenterandTCEconomicDevelopmentCorporation)andGregStevens(RedBluffDailyNews)havebeenaddressingthesefourcorecompetenciesthatweretheresultofourMayStrategicAdvancework.OnAu-gust17ththeculminationofthisworkwaspresentedtotheCityCounciltoensuretheyremainintouchoureffortstoenhanceandimprovemembership.Specifically,watchforenhancementsintheareasofMembership,GroupCohesion,BrandingandCommu-nication.Curiousaboutthesefourareas?JustcallDaveattheofficeandhecanputyouintouchwithmoredetailorbetteryet,youcanconnectwithoneofthechampionsandparticipateintheimprovementinitiatives.

GovernmentRelations–Stayingontopandintouch:AnotherbusygrouphasbeentheGovernmentRelationsCommittee(formerlyGovernance).Thisteamofdetailed-oriented,focusedindividualshasbeenorganizingthecollaborativeeffortswiththecitycalledRedBluffRebound.Thisgroupcontinuestovetthedetailedplansandideasfocusedonimprovingourlocaleconomyandcreatinglocaljobs.RelatedtothiseffortwasarecentmeetingheldbetweenthiscommitteeandtheleadContractorsfortheRedBluffDiversionDamproject.ThecityaskedyourChambertofacilitateameetingwiththesecompaniestodeterminetheactualnumberoflocaljobsthatwouldbecreatedfromtheproject.YoumayhavereadabouttheoutcomeinthelastweeklyChamberupdate(lookforitintheRedBluffDailyNews).
