God has called me into pastoral church ministry. I have a passion for disciple-making and mobilizing the local church to demonstrate and declare the gospel locally and globally. This is accomplished by preaching the gospel, teaching believers to love and obey God, nurturing an environment of mutual care, service and accountability and mobilizing the congregation to reach the lost. Because our culture is largely post-Christian we must engage our culture from a missionary perspective as ambassadors of Christ and be willing to take bold risks for God. PERSONAL BACKGROUND CONVERSION AND CALLING: While I grew up as a pastor’s son and accepted the basics of Christ’s substitutionary atonement at the age of 6, I did not commit myself to true surrender in faith to Jesus until June in 2000. This happened during a period of significant rebellion and questioning of my beliefs. I lived to please myself until I came to a point when I realized the extent of my depravity. Through the influence of Christian community and a youth pastor I finally surrendered my life to Christ. It sounds strange, but I have known since I was 8 that God called me into ministry. My gifts and calling have been confirmed by the witness of my local church, the fruit of my ministry and through personal conviction. At 19 I made the commitment before God that I would pursue pastoral ministry with an emphasis on leading, teaching and equipping. God used a pastor at McLean Bible Church to call me into full-time ministry at age 25. We got married on June 25, 2005, one year after graduation. Shannan is gifted in

mercy and service. She is an amazing mother, confidant to many women, and wonderful minister to children. Shannan is a teacher by trade but is currently investing in our children full-time. Nathan was born on April 21, 2007 and Aidan was born on October 20, 2009. They are our greatest gift from the Lord and our number one ministry priority. INTERESTS: At heart I am a big, extroverted kid. I love to play any sport, work out, spend lots of time outdoors, meet new people, make others laugh and spend time with my family and friends. I have a propensity toward extreme sports although over the years I have been more reserved. I love theology, studying people and culture, leadership and moving at a fast pace. I have come to appreciate reading and reflecting although neither come naturally to me. If I could do anything to relax it would be going on a long hike with my Bible and an iPod.
