Hair and beauty is big business. Demand for qualified stylists and therapists extends from local to global, providing true flexibility for a career you can take to a specialised level, travel with and work around family commitments. If you take pride in your appearance and wellbeing and enjoy bringing that gift to others, you will find a rewarding career in hair and beauty.

We are a Wella Centre of Excellence and benefit from highly trained staff and terrific facilities in our on-site salon and spa. Our hair and beauty classes are taught by staff who work in the industry, who have up-to-date knowledge and host work placements.

Plaza Hair and Beauty runs on commercial principles so you will enter the workplace with plenty of business experience.

FEES The fees listed throughout the individual course booklets indicate the amount you have to pay for the course. Course costs may include registration fees, exam fees, material and uniform costs and visits. Where this is the case, it is usually highlighted in the course description. It is also important to note that eligibility criteria may be subject to change based on government changes.

There are three fee bands you will fit into: A, B or C. Please see below to find out which band is relevant to you.

NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Beauty

This qualification is two days a week for over-19s. It covers health and safety, facials, manicures, pedicures, make-up, waxing, customer service and reception duties. This will enable progression into employment or on to a full-time course in make-up artistry, beauty or spa therapy.

C&G Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing NEW

This Level 3 course has been tailor made for the over 24 learner.

It incorporates consultation, hair-ups, colouring services and colour correction. Learners will also take part in our annual Hair and Beauty Awards. Level 2 Hairdressing must have been completed and certificates must be provided as proof.

A trade test consisting of theory and practical is required on entry to this course.

NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Barbering

A hairdressing NVQ is for anyone who is serious about having a hairdressing or barbering career. Gain the skills you need to work in a hairdressing salon or barber shop – from shampooing and cutting to demonstrating skills to others.

There are options to suit individual needs and aspirations – you could learn techniques to start or develop your career in the industry.

C&G NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing

This qualification is two days a week for over-19s. It could be a progression from a current Level 1 qualification in hairdressing or could be a refresher for people whoundertook a Level 2 and have not used their skills for many years.

It covers all aspects of cutting, colouring and styling as well as reception duties and health andsafety. This could lead to progression on to Level 3.

Attendance is two days a week.

NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Barbering NEW

This course is perfect for anyone who has completed a Level 2 barbering course and wants to enhance their skills.

Shaving, patterns and colouring men’s hair will be covered along with consultations and health and safety.

Level 2 Barbering must have been completed and certificates must be provided as proof.

An interview will be required.

Plaza

The training salon at our Station Plaza campus offers a wide range of hair and beauty treatments at

discounted prices.

All treatments are carried out by students under supervision of

highly experienced staff.
