As we charge towards our 5th year in Australia, we look back with great joy on the incredible time we’ve had building Rogue Beauty to what it is today. And we’re even more excited for what lies ahead and sharing in this journey with all of you, our amazing salon partners, without whom none of this would be possible.

2018 was another jam-packed and fun-filled year where we all got involved in so much, and we are proud to have had close to 1,000 hairdressers attend our education and fashion events throughout the year. Below is just a snippet of some of the activities we got up to:

We have been equally busy sourcing and curating amazing new brands for our Rogue Beauty network, and we are excited to welcome to the family 3 new amazing brands: Hot Tools Professional, Windle & Moodie and IGK Hair – take a look inside to learn more. In early 2019 we will be launching roguebeauty.pro, a new online portal for all Rogue Beauty partner salons, giving you full access to your account and all of our brands, with real time ordering, viewing and downloading of marketing and education assets. You’ll also be able to keep track of your invoices, backbar allowance and Rogue Beauty points. Check out page 56 for a sneak peek. It’s hard to imagine that 2019 is going to be bigger and better than 2018, however with firm plans in place to do all of the above and more, we don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon! Julianne is considered a leading stylist in her craft. A highly sought-after editorial artist and educator, Julianne is a passionate advocate of the hair industry. Warm and energetic, she is a favourite amongst the fashion industry and with her loyal clients alike.

Julianne was trained by an array of leading Australian hair stylists and developed a faithful clientele at some of Sydney’s leading salons such as Helmet and Synergy. It was here that Julianne embarked on her editorial career teaming up with Australian publications from ELLE to Harper’s Bazaar, working closely with Australian designers directing hair on their fashion shows.

In 2003, Julianne was invited to join the Bumble & Bumble salon team in New York. Providing an inspirational and influential part in Julianne’s career, creating opportunities to work with some the US and Europe’s leading magazines. These include

Vogue, Teen Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, V Magazine, Oyster, ID - alongside top fashion photographers, hair & makeup artists and celebrities such as Catherine Zeta Jones, George Clooney, Scarlet Johansson. Leading to being involved with high profile advertising campaigns for Sunsilk, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and fashions shows in Australia, the US and Europe.

Having spent many years on the show circuit enabled her to work on influential teams such as the acclaimed hair maestro Guido Palau and in 2007 Julianne returned to Australia, continued her editorial work and founded her award-winning salon Sable in Darlinghurst, having this for next 10 years.

Julianne joined the Oribe Australia Education Team in 2015 and leads the Australian team in their creative Ateliers. Being a part of the Oribe team includes intensive time in New York and LA every year working with the Directors of Training and Content refining her craft and being involved in NY fashion Weeks and Ateliers alike.

Julianne’s passion for education is evident in her loyal following of stylists from across Australia and continues to work as a cutter in Sydney to her long-standing clientele.

BARNEY MARTIN GLOBAL ARTISTIC TEAM, R+CO

Barney Martin is a name synonymous with laid back cool and signature‘wash and wear’ styling.

Originally hailing from London and now based in Sydney he has been creating, inspiring and teaching the highest standard of hair styling for over 25 years. Some of his career highlights include working on multiple European fashion week shows with personal favourites being Dior and Balmain.

Whilst assisting Sam McKnight he had the opportunity to work on both British and French Vogue. His Australian editorial career has seen his work feature on the covers of Vogue and Marie Claire.

Barney has been the Lead Educator and Creative Director for R+Co Australia since its launch in 2015. Having spent considerable time in the US with R+Co founders Howard McLaren, Garren and Thom Priano he loves bringing the international direction back to Australia and giving it local relevancy.

Barney divides his time between his two Sydney salons and his brand education role for R+Co. Barney lives in Sydney with his 3 children, 2 guinea pigs, 12 goldfish and patient other half Angela.

R+CO INTERNATIONAL ARTIST VISIT - ROBERT VASQUEZ

Originally from New York City, Robert began his career at Garren New York the day his license arrived from beauty school. First appointed to assisting Garren himself, he was quickly promoted to Stylist, earning a chair at the prestigious salon.

After working so closely together, Garren asked Robert to join the R+Co brand when the brand launched in 2014. His collaborative work with Garren has appeared in international campaigns including Dolce and Gabbana, Escada, Armani, Gloria Vanderbilt, Givenchy, Valentino, Italian Vogue, Ralph Lauren, and the Billboard Music Awards. Since then, he has been credited in Vogue, Men’s Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. He is a trusted member of both Thom Priano and Garren’s teams at New York Fashion Week, where he just celebrated his 10th season backstage. He has worked on many shows including Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, and Joseph Abboud. Robert loves the classics of hairdressing, where he states, “it all began”.

He enjoys creating big, glamorous, hair and draws influence from old Cosmo Magazine covers and Victoria’s Secret models. Robert also gains inspiration from photographers Steven Meisel, Steven Klein, Herb Ritts, Bruce Weber, and Michael Thompson. Other sources of inspiration come from fashion designers like Tom Ford, Gucci, and Prada, and hair icons including The Collective, Vidal Sassoon, Oribe and Mr. Kenneth. When he’s not traveling throughout the world bringing education to the industry, Robert resides in Southern California with his dog, Teddy.
