1ST QUARTER 2012
Wow can you believe the first quarter of 2012 is done. We have had 4 great speakers
that talked on a variety of subjects. We have seen many new faces at our luncheons and we
hope that is because of the great speakers we have brought in. We have also had a change
in venues from the Crowne Plaza to The Houston Club, there have been a few growing pains
with this but we hope to get them corrected as the year goes on. We are always open for
suggestions for speakers and/or venues for the luncheons to be held.
Kim Henderson of ExxonMobil has been on our board the past 6 years and has been
such a joy to work with always willing to help with anything we needed. So we were all sad
to find out she has decided to move with ExxonMobil to Fort Worth and will be leaving the
board in July. She will be missed but we wish her the best of luck in her new opportunity
and hope that she will come see us from time to time. Thanks Kim for all of your hard work!
We still have some great speakers lined up for the rest of this year and so we hope to see
you at the luncheons. Take care and have a great summer!

“How to Connect With People and Move Them to Action”
Jonathan Sprinkles – Bio
As a top television personality and motivational speaker, Jonathan’s philosophy was developed over a decade of honing the strategies he has used to help people and has applied in his own businesses. Having faced many of the same personal, financial, and organizational challenges your audience has endured, Jonathan “gets it.” He knows what looks good on paper versus what really works in the real world. Because he has been there, he speaks to the intangibles that finally connect the dots between theory and implementation. He uses elements of his personal journey from failure and embarrassment to becoming a top-rated expert in his field to remind his audiences to aim high and reject excuses.
Jonathan Sprinkles’ message has made him a favorite at banquets, conventions, and training events. He has also received high praise across the board among the top organizations nationwide. Jonathan’s company,
Sprinklisms, Inc was recently honored as the Houston Citizen’s Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award Winner for excellence in business. Jonathan was voted Houston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” for being one of the top entrepreneurs in America’s fourth largest city. He has also been voted National Speaker of the
Year (APCA), Marketer of the Year (JMI), and
Mentor of the Year (Disney) –three times.
How to Connect With Every
Audience, Get Booked on Major
Platforms, and Create a Ton of
Raving Fans
What has gotten Jonathan Sprinkles booked and rebooked on ABC, Fox News, HLN, and voted National Speaker of the Year was not being polished or perfect. It was learning how to CONNECT with his audiences. Once you see the difference between “giving a speech” (aka—the old-fashioned way) and strategically connecting with people, you’ll never approach the way you promote your book at engagements, interviews, or teleseminars the same way again.
Forget what you’ve heard from gurus about what worked in the past. Times have changed. Audiences’ attention spans have changed. I am going to show you what will work for you right now and how to prepare for the huge shift just around the corner.

Updates from NADOA
2012 has already proven to be a very exciting year for NADOA.
On April 1112th NADOA presented a North Dakota Oil & Gas
Seminar in Denver. We hope some familiar faces from HADOA
were able to make it to the seminar.
NADOA is thrilled to bring to our members wanting to
obtain their CDOA Certification a CDOA Review Webinar Program.
Luanne Johnson and Brenda Pirozzolo have been tested the
program for a few months and we are happy to announce we had
our first Webinar on Thursday, March 29th. Our topic was
Chapter 6 of the CDOA Review Manual “Calculations from Your
Title Opinion to Your Computer” and HADOA’s own Luanne
Johnson who is the author of this chapter was the presenter. We
have since had another Webinars with HADOA’s own Linda Barry
where she presented Chapter 1 “An Overview of the Oil & Gas
Industry” and May 1st we will have Bill Warren presenting
Chapter 11 “Arkansas Land Titles” from 11:30 to 1:00. NADOA
hopes to be able to present two webinars a month for members.
Please stay tuned for email blasts from NADOA regarding these
future seminars.
We are happy to announce the 2012 NADOA Scholarship
fund. One $2,000 and two $1,500 scholarships will be given to
NADOA members or immediate family members. For scholarship
guidelines and application please go to www.nadoa.org. The
registration deadline is June 1, 2012 so get that application
completed soon.
I would like to extend a special thank you to the following
HADOA members who are serving on the 2012 Institute
Committee. These are all volunteer positions and without the
commitment and dedication of these members NADOA could not
provide the first class educational events that are needed in our
industry. The 2012 NADOA Institute will be held on October 10
12th at the downtown Marriott Hotel in historic Philadelphia, PA.
I hope to see many HADOA members in Philadelphia in
October for an outstanding 2012 Institute.
