President's Notes

As I reported at our Board Meeting the sprinkler maintenance & sanding/snow removal are over budget. We had a rough winter at the beginning of the year and the 2018 winter budget continues to the end of the year. Our Master, Directors & Officer and Umbrella policies have all increased. These renew in August thus making that item over budget also.We have experienced a number of un-budgeted repairs and have not been invoiced for the repair of well #3 yet. Therefore, YTD we are running slightly over budget. With the cost of our tree removal upcoming next month, we will need to be frugal for the remainder of this year.Even after the completion of our 3 year roof replacement our reserve account is still healthy. We add over 25% to this fund monthly.

Remember, If you plant something around the lamp post ,in front of your unit or anywhere outside ofwhat was originally planted there, you own the care and maintenance and WEEDING of those areas.

The sprinkler system has been turned off for this year.

We appreciate those of you that return your trash and recycle containers soon after they are emptied. Nobody wants to see them left out there too long. Thank you.

Note from our Management CompanyHi All,

The timing of this Gazette is pretty good as I just had an opportunity to see a lot of you at the cook outevent on August 18th under the tents. You have such a great community. The effort to set up the tents, audio equipment, food, tables and chairs was very impressive. I met some new owners, connected with some I already knew and got a private guitar playing exhibition by another. We were able to incorporate an official meeting into the mix and everyone had an opportunity to present a question if desired. As you know, your roofing program looks great. Your buildings are tight and ready for winter and the gazebo roof was thrown in for free. In the next couple weeks, you will see a large crane on siteto take down large trees on the forest line. This could be fun to watch. But, keep a safe distance. I will be sending a notice soon about staining the decks. Keep an eye out for it and call or email with any question.

Sincerely, Ken Foley888-356-3984

Thank You

Dear Hadleigh Woods Residents,

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to wish my mom, Betty, a happy 100th

birthday. We were both overwhelmed by the love and support from all of you, despite the rain!

I later asked mom if she enjoyed her party and she placed her hand on her heart and said, “Its

all in here.”

With gratitude,

Jean Watt

Our Water System Operator

Well #3 report

“When our operator went out to investigate the well he took off the well cap and noted the sound of water falling back down into the well leading to the conclusion that the drop pipe that that well hangs on had a leak. The pump was pulled the following day, to find that the pipe had been corroded through. It has been reinstalled on 100” of 2” PVC pipe, with new brass connectors and check valves.

After the pump was reinstalled the well was chlorinated, circulated and then connected back to the pump house after chlorine residuals were safe for drinking.

In addition our operator went through the 2 green sand filters and the softener to ensure that they were functioning properly.”

“The water has come down from 960 ppm to 480 ppm. My RO water from 137 ppm (High) to 60 ppm. The RO system should be 10% of the incoming water I found out. It used to be 30 ppm like polar springs.Unfortunately the bad water overwhelmed my new membrane.

We took a chance with the dishwasher. using cascade complete (little block), some Lemi Shine and a cup of vinegar.I have to say everything came out great. The glasses were sparkling, and to think we had been out looking at dishwashers at Home Depot and Lowes before the notice of the failure of well #3. One neighbor said he had the same clouded dishes as I, and had to use vinegar as I did to remove the stuff that must have been sodium!!!!Thanks to the woman at the Wed. card game that recognized there was a problem.”
