No “school” 4-H Fair Projects 4-H is an out-of-school educational program. So, articles made in school under the supervision of a teacher that receive school credit do not qualify as 4-H project work. This is duplication of credit for a single effort and to a large extent prevents 4-H from achieving its full objective.

Missouri 4-H Century Family Award The Missouri 4-H Century Family Award recognizes 4-H families with a long, sustaining involvement in the 4-H program. Missouri 4-H families with a combined 100 years or more of membership and/or volunteer service in 4-H are eligible to be recognized. Award applications are due by July 1st and available at: http://4h.missouri.edu/foundation/

Special Congratulations to 4-H College Scholarship Winners from Perry County Dillon Hacker & Megan Hotop They each received a $2,500 Missouri 4-H Foundation - Dennis E. The Missouri 4-H Foundation, which provides financial support for University of Missouri Extension’s 4-H program, awarded 68 college scholarships statewide in 2017 ranging from $500—$2,500 totaling $74,050.

STEM Learning at Maker Faires Take a trip to a Maker Faire! “Maker Faires are gath-erings of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, pro-jects. A family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.” 4-H has been involved as “makers” since its beginning and the maker movement is a great op-portunity for 4-H members to get more widely involved in the STEM learning and creativity promoted by the Maker Faires. Upcoming Maker Faires in Missouri are: June 24-25, 2017, Maker Faire Kansas City, http://kansascity.makerfaire.com/ August 26, 2017, Ozarks Mini Maker Faire, Springfield,

Mo., http://theozarks.makerfaire.com/ Nov. 4, 2017, St. Joseph, MO, Big Muddy Mini Maker

Faire, http://thebigmuddy.makerfaire.com/ Each of these events allow for exhibitors and they are taking applications, so this may be a time when a 4-H member may show off what they are doing in the maker world.
