After Login successfully as a PI, following screen will appear:

Step 1. Proposal Formats - The process of submitting the Online Project Proposals you need to

required scheme’s format. On clicking Proposal Formats button, you can see various schemes

format according to division wise. After downloading required scheme format, you have to fill

all the details mentioned in format. (You can also download scheme’s format from Schemes

and Format link in e-PMS homepage) And upload it Submit Proposal option. On clicking

Proposal Format button the following screen will appear.

Step 2. Submit Proposals- On clicking Submit Proposal button you can Initiate new proposal or

submit previously saved proposals in drafts. After click on Submit Proposal button,

following screen will appear.

Initiate new Proposal- On clicking Initiate New Proposal button PI can submit new proposal.

Draft Proposals Due for Submission- If you have already saved any proposal in drafts previously

and wish to continue from the same then no need to click on the Initiate New Proposal button. Just

select the proposal and click on edit button to continue with the existing work.

Initiate New Proposal: - If you want to submit new project proposal. There are six tabs which

you need to enter in a sequence. Once you finish with mandatory fields, then you can start

entering the details in the next tab.

The six tabs are as shown in the following:

Principal Investigator

Suggested Referees

Financial Details

Ongoing Projects

Submission.

2.1. General Information: You can add basic information by which the division knows your

basic interests and duration. On clicking general Information tab following screen will appear:

To Add Details in General Information:

Figure 5: Choose your scheme Division wise or Programme/Scheme

Select the Programme/Scheme, in which you are interested: You can select your

scheme either by Division or by Programme/Scheme. After selecting required division

and scheme please fill other information.

Type of Institute – Institute Types are given as follows

1. Government: Public funded or partly funded

Institutes/Societies/Universities/Autonomous Bodies/PSU/PSE/Statutory boards.

2. Private: Companies/Registered or Unregistered Firms.

3. NGO/VO: in the status of Trusts/Private educational

institutes/Charities/Foundations/Societies.

Note: If you are choosing NGO/VO as an Institute Type. Then you have to fill NGO Darpan Unique

Id and Ngo’s PAN No.After entering NGO Darpan Unique Id and PAN No Ngo’s details will verify

from Ngo Darpan Portal. After verifying Ngo’s unique id then only you can submit your proposal in e-PMS. Following screen will appear after choosing NGO/VO

Other Details - The Fields mark with asterisk (*) are mandatory.

1. Type the name of project you want to give, in Project Title.

2. Describe the project in brief, in Project Summary.

3. Select the Project Duration (Year) and Project Duration (Months). Select the Academic

Area, and Application Area in which you are interested.

4. Project Keywords – You can enter maximum 5 project keywords separated by comma

5. Click on SAVE button. If you are a NGO, NGO details are fetched from NGO darpan

portal. Following screen will appear:

2.2. Principal Investigator- Login PI user information will be shown as automatically. The

following screen will appear:

Adding PIs and CO-PIs: PIs and CO-PIs would not have separate Login but added so that the

DST knows your key people who are with you for their project along with their background in

Division or Programme/Scheme.

Note: Some scheme can also fill Mentors details (depends on the programme/scheme)

Add New Principal Investigator - If you want to add new Principal Investigator, then Click here

ADD PI Button. The following screen will appear as shown below.

The fields marked with (*) are mandatory fields, and should not be left blank.

PI’s will have to enter basic details like Title, Name, Designation, Department, Institute,

Date of Birth, Gender, Address, Communication Email etc. after entering necessary PI’s

details click on Save button.

PI can also add CO-PI details same as PI’s details. After entering PI’s and CO-PI’s details

following screen will appear as shown below.

After entering PI’s and CO-PI’s details, a list of PI’s and CO-PI’s details saved by Lead

PI, the following screen will appear as shown below.

2.3. Suggested Referees- Suggested Referees are those people who can recommend your

proposal to the DST as they have faith in your team. You can add maximum five Referees along

with their details. Suggested Referees details are optional.

PI’s will have to enter basic details of Suggested Referees like Title, Name, Designation,

Department, Institute, Mobile, Email Id etc. after entering necessary details click on

Save button. The following screen will appear as shown below.

1.4. Financial Details- In financial details PI’s will have to enter Total Project Cost (in Rs.)

and PFMS Unique Code. The following screen will appear as shown below.

Note: Financial details are mandatory but not applicable for all Programme/scheme.

2.5. Ongoing Project- Ongoing Projects are those projects for which the Funding department

has started giving grants in releases. Releases are the different instalments of money given by the

Funding department for different periods.

PI’s will have to enter Ongoing project details like Project Title, Funding Department,

Project Duration, Project Cost (in Rs.), Project Started in. following screen will appear

As shown below.

2.6. Submission- In submission page PI will have to uploaded list of documents. List of

documents may vary scheme to scheme.

PI will select file to be uploaded by “Choose File” option and click on Upload button to

upload. uploaded document will be shown in the list.

Necessary documents to be uploaded should be in correct format (pdf,doc,docx) only.

If your scan document size is larger than given size, then you may scan your document in

200 DPI and reduce the file size.

PI can download uploaded documents using download link and invalid document uploaded

earlier, can be replaced using delete link.

Click Here to Preview- On clicking Click here to Preview Button PI can view the complete

project proposal along with uploaded documents. If some mandatory information is missing, then

following screen will appear.

You can view complete proposal only if all mandatory information is filled in their respective

tabs as shown above. Following screen will appear on clicking click here to Preview button

PI should ensure that all the proposal details and uploaded documents are correct before clicking

on Print & Submit button. Proposal once submitted as final, cannot be further modified. PI can

update any information clicking on back button before submitting proposal.

Finally, when you are assured and have properly reviewed your proposal, click on Print &

Submit button. The final message will appear on the screen as shown below. PI will receive a

confirmation mail with Temporary Registration Number in their mail id.

Step 3. Track Your Project- PI can see the status of his proposal through the option “Track your

Project” provided on the PI’s home page. On clicking Track your Project button, following

Screen will appear.

Draft Proposal Due for Submission: On clicking this link you can edit those proposals

which you have not yet submitted. You can have maximum three proposal saved in draft.

The following screen is displayed which contains links to perform different actions.

Projects under Consideration: On clicking this link You can see proposal current status

on Project Status column., following screen is displayed which contains links to perform

different actions.

(i) View & Print Proposal – You can view your submitted proposal on clicking this link. (ii) View Uploaded Documents – You can view you uploaded documents list on clicking this link.

(iii) View Proposal Comment – You can view comments given by referee’s if any.

Projects Send Back By Division For Resubmission: If any proposal has been send back

to PI for resubmission. You can view the division’s comments on clicking click here to

view comments link and resubmit this proposal. Following screen will appear as shown

below.

Projects Needs Revision: Click to view the submitted projects which committee has been

suggested for review the proposals. You can view the committee comments on comments

column. The following screen appears:

Edit Your Profile details: You can edit your profile information which you had entered at

the time of registration. On clicking Edit profile button following screen will appear.

Note: You cannot update your institute name if you already submit any proposal earlier in e-PMS

Change Your Password: You can change your password using Change Password link

from right upper corner of PI’s home page. On clicking Change Password button following

screen will appear.

Enter your Old Password

Enter your New Password. Password criteria for choosing new password is already given

in bottom left corner of change password page. Confirm your new password.

On clicking submit button A message ‘password changed successfully will flash on the

screen.

Forget your Password: If you have forgotten your password, then you can retrieve new

password using Forgot Password link in e-PMS homepage.

On clicking forgot password link following screen will appear.

Enter your login Id and Email Id. On clicking submit button new password generation mail

will be send to your registered email id.

After clicking on new password generation link following screen will appear.

For Creating new password Enter password, Enter Confirm Password and Captcha in text fields

then Click on Submit button. Please use following criteria while choosing new password.

Password Criteria for choosing new password- The following rules for creating a new password:

Password must be at least eight characters.

Password must contain at least one digit (0-9).

Password must contain at least one lowercase letter (a-z).

Password must contain at least one uppercase letter (A-Z).

Password must contain at least one special character.

Password should not contain Username.

Forget Your Username: If you have forgotten your Username, then you can retrieve

Username using Forgot Username link in e-PMS homepage.

On clicking forgot username link following screen will appear.

Enter your Communication email id as you had specified during the PI registration.

And enter Captcha. On clicking Submit Button your Username will be send to your

registered email id.
