COMPANYPROFILES

For more than 50 years, Demco has used the phrase “Doing our Best

to Provide You the Best” to describe our commitment to customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management in our ongoing quest for excellence. Our new vision is not only to enter and sustain, but to flourish in today’s new, ever-changing global marketplace.

With our continued focus on family, team, quality, and customer service, we will strive to fulfil this vision with a firm conviction that our effort spent today will continue to bring rewards in the future.

OUR HISTORYIn 1950, Robert Dethmers started Dethmers Manufacturing Company in a corner of an implement dealership. One of his first products was fertilizer application equipment for the agricultural industry.

Since the beginning, Demco has pursued a dream to fill needs, provide solutions, and compete in an existing marketplace. From Agriculture to Towing to Brake manufacturing, Demco has earned its place with the right combination of skill and technology needed to produce the best products available without compromise.

In 2001, as a member of Lake Enterprise, Demco became a partner in the purchase of Maurer Trailers, mainly constructing steel drop deck trailers along with steel and aluminium grain trailers. Since that time they have added to this line up by designing and building products for use in the construction and scrap trades.

First they designed and built gondola trailers with capacities among the highest in the industry up to 114 yd. We went on to design and build a medium-duty end-dump trailer with the scrap industry in mind with tub designed for strength and easy clean out. As we all know, the clear out and clean up are as important to the project as the finish product itself. These trailers are built to withstand the punishment and provide years of service in the industry.

In late 2015, Demco became the sole owner of the Maurer brand products, bringing the product under the umbrella of a very well-respected name and leader in the Ag industry. After completing the purchase, Demco continued to expand the lineup with the purchase of Circle R Side Dump Trailers

in early 2016. We believed this opportunity to purchase one of the original side dump companies and in our humble opinion, the best of them provide Demco the ability to provide the best side dump on the market.

The Circle R is a product known for strength and capacity in a smaller frame. Through design innovation, we are able to haul more yards and weight in our 34 ft tub than most, if not all, other current 37 ft and 38 ft tubs on the market. These capacities also carry over to our 37 tubs on the larger models. The Circle R trailer is offered in a model of all shapes and sizes from the 2-axle standard duty with a 75 K GVW capacity, up to the 5-axle heavy-duty trailers with an 85 GVW capacity. We offer a variety of lift and steerable axle configuration to fit the needs of our customer.

Strength and reliability are built into every one of our trailers to deliver on the jobsite.

The Circle R by Demco also offers user-friendly features not commonly found on the competition’s trailers. The most prominent would be the ability to dump either side without ever leaving

the cab. Circle R offers the directional dump system, by using hydraulics, allowing the driver to dump from the cab on either side without having to get out to switch the locking system. This not only saves time but provides safety to drivers on the jobsite. Time is money, but the safety of your most valuable asset, your employee, is an investment that will pay most dividends.

Demco also offers a complete line of Rigid Neck Drop deck trailers from 40 ft to 53 ft allowing you to move the heavy equipment to and from your jobsite. We also offer a line of utility and tilt bed trailers for the small jobs on your agenda. All are built to meet the high quality and strength standards set by Demco.

Today, as Demco continues to grow, our tradition of building quality products, employing talented, industrious people, and providing attentive service remains. Our sales staff, along with our dealers and distributors across the United States, Canada, and the world, carry on the standard.

We at Demco will continue “Doing our Best to Provide You the Best” with innovative and quality products to meet the needs of our customer in Ag, Scrap, and Constructions markets. ■

COMPANYPROFILES

For more than 20 years, Express Blower, Inc. has been the premier manufacturer of large pneumatic

blower equipment, pushing innovation in a number of environmental and construction-related fields, such as erosion control blankets/berms/filter sock, green roof materials, aggregate installation, landscape mulch/turf/soils, and playground safety surface.

THE EQUIPMENTAll Express Blower® (EB) product lines are designed to blow a variety of organic materials from mulches to compost to soil blends to some aggregates, saving customers time and labor, increasing their profitability and versatility, and decreasing the seasonality often found in construction and landscaping work. The Legacy EB product line has more than 60 years of design and development behind it and is the most powerful on the market today. Because a purchase can truly be a business opportunity, and not just another tool in the shed, the potential for profit is key.

Express Blower equipment can provide the following opportunities:

• Reduce the number of workers required for labor intensive, low profit jobs such as mulching, leaving the rest of the crew available to do more profitable work.

• Complete more jobs in a day due to the speed an EB can apply materials.

• Access to the proprietary Terraseeding® process, which is the calibrated injection of seed into the blow stream for turf, erosion control blankets and berms, and green roofs.

• Express Blower helps take the seasonal nature out of a businesses’ workflow. Work summer, fall, winter, and spring due to the power and versatility of its machines.

• Most EB machines are designed for superior payload, reducing reload and drive times.

• Increase customers’ satisfaction by delivering a consistent, professional, and efficient service, creating a greater opportunity for repeat business.

The Express Blower Legacy line is known for its capacity, power, capabilities, and patented feed system; all of which helps ensure that the widest variety of organic materials can be productively blown at greater distances than other pneumatic blower equipment. From approximately 45 cubic yard volume up to 110 cubic yard volume, EB machines have the capacity to meet any business’s unique needs. Recently, Express Blower expanded its product lines to include the Express Mulcher™, an entirely different type of pneumatic blower, and the Express Loader, a machine specializing in high-lift loading and reloading for on- and off-road applications. In addition, Express Blower added a new model to its legacy line in the SKHD, a compact skid-style unit with a small hopper and tremendous power. It is meant for onsite continuous feeding of heavy soils, aggregates, and rooftop mixes.

With the introduction of the Express Mulcher comes an entirely different type of pneumatic blower. Its walking floor design makes quick work of coarse, dry lightweight materials often found with mulches, compost, and playground chips. Its attractive price point and simplified design makes the Express Mulcher a perfect machine for an already existing

business or as an entry-level unit into the pneumatic blower market. Available in approximately 40 and 50 cubic yard capacity, it is PTO powered and has a polished aluminum box and hydraulic rear mount hose reel.

The Express Loader was designed to work in conjunction with Express Blower equipment and adds versatility and performance to your jobsites. Its innovative design loads and reloads equipment quickly in on- or off-road applications and narrow or “single-lane” situations. The Express Loader is available in different configurations, including track or truck mounted.

THE COMPANYThe genesis of Express Blower, Inc. began more than 60 years ago when Rexius Forest By-Products, Inc. developed the pneumatic conveying system for use in their wood waste and mulching business. In 1995, Rexius began manufacturing the units for worldwide distribution.

In 2002, Express Blower was acquired by DHG, Inc. and became a sister company to FINN Corporation. FINN has been in business for more than 80 years and manufactures HydroSeeders®, Straw Blowers, and Bark Blowers. Express Blower and FINN operate separately yet under the same ownership and each company maintains its own unique sales and manufacturing process and structure.

Express Blower, Inc. builds its equipment at its corporate facility in Fairfield, Ohio and also at its satellite location in Eugene, Oregon. Providing the most experienced and knowledgeable people in both the sales and the aftermarket support of its equipment, Express Blower is known for developing close relationships with its customers. Onsite operator training, expert technical support, exceptional parts availability, and an exclusive owner’s conference are a few more reasons people choose Express Blower. ■

GAS CLIP TECHNOLOGIES

Finally eliminate the risk of being unprotected against toxic gases due to your portable

gas detector running out of battery in the middle of a shift. Gas Clip Technologies introduces a new, maintenance-free 4-gas detector that has a 2-year continuous runtime with no charging—the Multi Gas Clip Simple. Reliably test for hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), and combustible gases (LEL) with this simple-to-use and simple-to-maintain detector. No charging ever! No calibrating needed! Just turn it on and have worry-free assurance of protection against toxic gases 24/7 for 2 full years … with no maintenance costs.

What makes this ultra-durable detector able to perform so well for so long even under the harshest of conditions? Gas detection has come a long way since the first portable gas detector with a catalytic diffusion sensor was introduced in the 1920’s. New technology has led to the development of sophisticated, yet easy to use, gas detectors that can run for their entire lifespan without ever needing to be charged or calibrated.

The Multi Gas Clip Simple uses a low-energy infrared beam of light inside the LEL sensor to detect gas. This type of detection process has an extremely low drain on the battery, allowing the battery to last for months and months at a time. Non-infrared (pellistor/catalytic bead) LEL sensors, which were the only combustible gas sensors available for many years, contained two beads and a filament which needed to heat up to detect gas. That continual heating process used an enormous amount of energy which consumed the battery power quickly. By the end of a shift, and sometimes even before a shift was over, gas detectors would need to be recharged. Think of the convenience now of not having to plug a gas detector in every single day to charge it up.

Pellistor/catalytic bead LEL sensors had to have oxygen present to

perform the heating process, therefore it was previously impossible to obtain accurate gas readings in inert environments. The infrared LEL sensor, using just a beam of light to detect gas, doesn’t require oxygen at all, so it always will provide an accurate gas reading in oxygen-enriched or oxygen-depleted environments.

The pellistor/catalytic bead filament was also fragile so it could burst when suddenly exposed to high levels of gas or it could easily break when the detector was accidentally dropped. The infrared LEL sensor contains no fragile filament to break or burst. It

also doesn’t contain beads that can get poisoned over time with exposure to typical sensor poisons such as H2S or silicones.

The Multi Gas Clip Simple is the easiest to use and easiest to maintain gas detector available today. Gas Clip Technologies’ continued development and refinement of advanced low-power photometric infrared technology for LEL measurement helps make gas detection simpler than ever in this newest member of their gas detector family. ■

There are quite a few reasons why the Isuzu FTR is one of the top Class 6 trucks on the

road today: It delivers a unique mix of a 25,950-lb. GVWR with a low-cab-forward design that gives it fantastic maneuverability and visibility along with the ability to carry more cargo than a conventional Class 6 truck at the same wheelbase. The FTR has a smaller “footprint” than a conventional truck, so with a 26-foot body, it’s about the same size as a conventional truck with a 20-foot body.

The FTR gives you choices, too, like eight wheelbase lengths from 152 to 248 inches, and it can accommodate bodies from 14 feet to 30 feet. It’s powered by Isuzu’s 4HK1-TC 5.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers class leading fuel economy and carries a B-10 durability rating of 375,000 miles, meaning 90 percent of engines should reach that mileage before requiring an overhaul. The engine is mated to a U.S.-built Allison 2550 RDS 6-speed automatic transmission with power take-off (PTO) capability.

Plus, the FTR is assembled at the Spartan Motors, Inc. facility in Charlotte, Michigan, an all-new assembly plant that represents a $6.5 million investment and has created many new jobs for the Michigan workforce.

The Isuzu FTR—it provides Class 6 capability, a class-leading warranty, plus an LCF design for improved visibility and maneuvering teamed with a fuel-efficient diesel powertrain. No wonder Isuzu has been America’s #1 selling Low-Cab-Forward truck line since 1986 and why your next Class 6 truck should be an Isuzu FTR. ■

COMPANYPROFILES

In 2017, Jeffrey Machine launched a new website including

e-commerce so that customers can shop online for parts and stock tools for the first time.

“My goal as head of this company is to make sure that we’re always on the cutting edge of technology both on the manufacturing and operations sides of the business, and we’re thrilled to be offering inventory for sale online now, for the convenience of our customers,” says Jeffrey Sager, president of Jeffrey Machine, Inc.

He went on to say that as a pioneer in the drilling industry for more than 40 years, Jeffrey Machine has often been ahead of the curve as the industry changes and that he saw a need to offer parts online.

“Having a new website that features our e-commerce is going to help our customers. Our new site also has a recently produced corporate video that celebrates many of our achievements over the last 40 years while featuring employees and highlighting our company’s unique position in the industry,” says Sager.

Jeffrey Machine also opened a second office in Euless, Texas, this year. Now when a customer orders a part, it can ship from the warehouse closest to them, so it arrives in a timelier manner and keeps that customer’s downtime to a minimum. The ability to delivery exactly what customers demand and the success contractors across the globe have experienced because of Jeffrey Machine’s innovation is why they have grown from a small machine shop to one of the leading drilling manufacturers in the world. This customer-centric approach has been the way they have done business since Frank Sager founded the company as a machine, tool, and die shop in 1977. Frank, a machinist and metal fabricator with many years of experience, created tools to the exact design request of his customers. Later, when he passed the family trade on to his son, Jeffrey, who took great interest in the auger market, this same philosophy was carried on.

“My father expected excellence every day from employees and in every piece of tooling that left the factory. He set the bar high for us and I expect the same results from the employees and tools we manufacture today,” says Sager.

Jeffrey Machine celebrated its 40th Anniversary this year too, marking the milestone with a commemorative logo stamp which appears on the website and all marketing materials, along with celebrating the hard work and dedication of its employees all year long.

“Our greatest asset at Jeffrey Machine is our employees and we want them to always feel valued and important, so we try to keep moral high with quarterly employee lunches, contests, and a heartfelt thank you,” says Sager.

Jeffrey Machine explored some new and exciting marketing opportunities in 2017, like sponsoring Battle of the Bluegrass Tractor Pull series, attending ConExpo/Con-Ag in Las Vegas, many ADSC and DFI Chapter meetings, and much more.

2018 is going to be an exciting year for Jeffrey Machine with lots of trade shows, the biggest being IFCEE in Orlando in March, and hosting DROS (Drill Rig Operators School) in September. Growth of business being done in the Texas location, as well as growing online sales, will also be focuses for this year.

Jeffrey Machine, Inc. is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of foundation and utility drilling tools, including augers, tooth holders, teeth, couplers, and more, all designed to customer’s exact specifications.

Working side-by-side with their customers, Jeffrey Machine creates drilling tools with enhanced capabilities as unique as the demands of each job. Development of each innovative Jeffrey Machine product is the result of extensive field study and an enduring commitment to constantly improve the safety and performance of every product. Jeffrey Machine offers a comprehensive line of auger tooling manufactured to ensure optimal performance under the most demanding drilling conditions. At the heart of this leading manufacturer of some of the world’s toughest tooling is a precision machine shop that’s small enough to continue providing exceptional, personal service. The company’s continued success is attributed to its ability to listen to and understand its customers and to deliver each of them the right tools. ■

For the last 30 years, KM International has been a forefront leader in offering

the most extensive line of asphalt maintenance equipment in the industry. All KM International equipment is manufactured in North Branch, Michigan, in their state-of-the-art, 36,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The KM International equipment line includes infrared asphalt recyclers, asphalt hotbox reclaimers, the patent pending T-2 Asphalt Millings Recycler, and crack maintenance equipment. KM International’s equipment is designed to be cost-effective and time-efficient and that is the reason so many contractors have found success utilizing KM’s equipment. The goal of KM International has been and will continue to be setting their customers up for success. The KM staff takes the time to learn about your business and then makes suggestions based on what you, as the customer, are ultimately trying to achieve.

For KM International, their customers are the focal point of success. The sales staff are experts on the equipment and it is their goal to make customers just as knowledgeable about the equipment as they are. This knowledge starts with on-site training covering not just the operation of the equipment but the routine maintenance and troubleshooting techniques. Also at the customer’s disposal is a highly trained parts and technical service department available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Most parts are stocked at KM’s facility and can ship same day to ensure the customer does not lose time on the job.

The KM International equipment line offers a fast and efficient solution to age old asphalt repair issues. KM’s infrared asphalt recyclers cut time and costs by a 1/3 of the traditional asphalt repair methods. KM did not invent infrared asphalt repair, but through years of research and development, they have developed a line of infrared recyclers far superior to any other units on the market. A KM infrared paired with a hotbox reclaimer is a true turnkey business that has generated millions of dollars in additional revenue for contractors around the world.

KM International manufacturers an extensive array of asphalt hotbox

reclaimers fitting the needs and budgets of any contractor. All KM International trailer-mounted hotboxes are backed by an industry leading 2-year warranty on parts and workmanship and a 5-year warranty on the trailer frame structure.

A lot of the time the “green” aspect of KM’s equipment is over looked, but all of KM’s equipment is designed to reduce the negative impact on the environment. Asphalt is the most recycled product in the world and all of KM International’s equipment promotes reducing waste asphalt material and instead recycles that material to be reused in practical asphalt repair applications.

The KM International staff creates a personal relationship with each of their customers no matter how big or small. The equipment speaks for itself, but KM International contributes their

successful growth over the last 30 years to their customers. Although KM International has equipment in more than 40 countries, they still take the time to personally follow up with each customer individually. KM international sees the sale as only the begining of the relationship.

KM International ensures each piece of equipment that leaves its facility is quality tested and approved before being shipped. KM International has built a worldwide reputation as a leader in the industry based on the reliability and longevity of their equipment, and works to continually meet and exceed their customers quality expectations.

KM International has an authorized dealer network spanning more than 26 states and 7 countries to ensure customers are never far from a certified service facility. ■

The LGH team shares a common purpose: to serve our customers with passion, motivation, and dedication as we continually work together to exceed all expectations.

We take great care in the selection of our extensive range of equipment offered for rent, as well as ensuring that each piece of equipment we stock is safe and ready for use. From initial contact, LGH assists in selecting the correct equipment for your project. right time. These levels of professionalism are only achieved through dedication, preparation, hard work, and a willingness to assess all aspects of our company’s operations. The continuous commitment from LGH employees allows us to achieve optimum levels of efficiency.

LGH PRACTICESAt LGH, we carry out an annual program of

internal audits at each rental center, looking at both operational and administrative practices and procedures. Apart from monitoring our administrative efficiency, we also carry out in-depth audits of all mechanical practices, examining equipment, maintenance, personnel productivity, and safety.

The value and success of LGH is due, in part, to the importance placed upon employee training—utilizing in-house and independent programs, as well as programs led by key suppliers. LGH provides training for every member of the rental staff, along with comprehensive courses for rental center mechanical personnel. LGH rental representatives receive specialized training to reinforce the safe and effective use of LGH hoisting and rigging equipment in the field, aligned with specific safety requirements, for increased customer jobsite safety and efficiency. LGH utilizes educational methods from traditional and hands-on, to virtual learning, and practical workshops coupled with periodic review. LGH Safety Administrators create, review, and modify these programs to ensure that LGH meets, and in many cases, exceeds the latest statutory and legal requirements.

LGH verifies rental equipment safety with the use of a dynamic vertical proof testing machine capable of dual-load range testing, as well as a dynamic horizontal proof test machine that is fully equipped with computerized data test software and fixtures for winch mounting. The addition of testing equipment to LGH rental distribution centers is one of the many investments made to always deliver the safest equipment to our customers. Testing is just another way for us to make sure we put your safety first.

Service and maintenance operations are vital components of LGH’s core culture. More than 25 years of equipment maintenance experience has refined the inspection, maintenance, and testing processes to ensure that LGH remains the leader in the lifting equipment rental industry, as well as retains the reputation for quality rental gear.

The Highlands Accounting Group, Inc. (THAG), headquartered in Birmingham,

Alabama, is a leading accounting firm specializing in 401k and other retirement plan audits (profit sharing and defined benefit), bookkeeping services, financial statement reviews, financial statement audits, and general contractors license applications and renewals for various states.

At THAG, we have seen firsthand the power of relationships and investing in people’s lives and businesses with, most importantly, our time. Our mission is to maintain and develop trusting relationships by remaining authentic, genuine, and compassionate. Our firm thrives from those types of relationships.

401K/RETIREMENT PLAN AUDITS 401k plans are governed by complex rules and regulations that are constantly changing. At THAG, we realize an audit of a retirement plan is a regulatory requirement and a commodity. We understand that a 401k audit is not our client’s main area of focus and are looking to pay a fair price.

WHY THAG FOR YOUR 401K/RETIREMENT PLAN AUDIT?As a fiduciary of the Plan, one of the most important decisions made is to hire an independent and qualified public accountant. THAG understands the complex rules and regulations that affect retirement plan audits and we pride ourselves on providing a quality product and adding value to Plan management. It is important for us to provide retirement plan education to the Plan Administrators, financial accounting personnel, human resources personnel, and payroll. This education can help prevent future compliance and operational errors, plus bring peace of mind.

We are members of the American Institute of Certified Public

Accountant Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, and adhere to the highest quality standards by voluntarily agreeing to the rigorous membership requirements.

WHAT WILL I PAY FOR A 401K/RETIREMENT PLAN AUDIT?Our fee structure is significantly less than those of large CPA firms. You get the expertise from a large firm with the cost and attention needed of a small firm. The more specialized training and experience an auditor has, the more familiar the auditor will be with plan practices and operations. At many CPA firms, you will work with a Shareholder/Partner in the initial stages of the audit, but during the audit, you will most likely have a less experienced person working with you. At THAG, you will work exclusively with a Shareholder throughout the entire audit.

BOOKKEEPING SERVICESAccurate financial statements are the backbone to a successful business. The tasks of managing the financial statements can be time-consuming and an administrative burden. With bookkeeping services such as monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, general ledger reports, and budgets, we can help you better manage your company’s financial records.

TRADITIONAL PUBLIC ACCOUNTING SERVICESWe understand that finances are the heartbeat to your business. Careful consideration of the level of assurance provided by your CPA is important. Many companies are paying for services that are not required or warranted. THAG can help you determine the level of assurance needed. Below are some characteristics of each financial statement assurance level.

AUDIT, REVIEW, AND COMPILATIONTHAG offers a range of assurance engagements including audits, reviews, or compilations.

An Audit provides the highest level of assurance and credibility to your organization’s financial picture for all stakeholders (board members, owners, financial institutions, and customers) by providing an opinion on whether the financial statements are presented fairly in accordance with applicable financial reporting framework. A Review provides limited assurance that there are no material modifications to financial statements. A Compilation does not provide any assurance.

CONTRACTOR’S LICENSETHAG has extensive experience in helping contractors prepare the necessary financial statement data needed to obtain a state contractor’s license or state renewal. Each state has specific requirements as to the type of statement needed. Please call us for a free consultation. ■

TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS BY REMAINING

AUTHENTIC, GENUINE, AND COMPASSIONATE.

Now more than ever, industry professionals are challenged to cut costs and produce

results more quickly. Topcon meets those demands at a conceptual crossroads we call “The Intersection of Infrastructure and Technology” where construction, surveying, and engineering professionals find advantages and know-how to be at the forefront of technological innovation—to increase productivity and profitability— for growing infrastructure needs. Topcon invites infrastructure professionals to meet us at this unique point—this “intersection”—where infrastructure opportunities and technology come together to meet the demands of today and tomorrow.

OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTNERWith increasing population density compounded by urban growth and modernization in developing regions, the need for new infrastructure grows exponentially. The monetary gap to pay for expected necessities can be addressed by increases in productivity and reduction of waste in global construction practices. Integrating smart technology into construction is the only reliable way to meet the productivity demands. This reality has prompted international government directives to incorporate smart technology in infrastructure projects, which presents opportunities for Topcon to partner with contractors to provide solutions that meet those specifications.

TECHNOLOGY FOR PRODUCTIVITYTopcon innovations increase efficiency in nearly all aspects of infrastructure development. From land surveying to automated machine controls, Topcon technology improves the workflow, thus increasing productivity. While Topcon technology has traditionally been built around tangible sensors or devices, it now also includes data workflows and

process control of development projects as well—offering complete end-to-end solutions.

Topcon understands industry professionals are extremely pragmatic and, in many cases, can prefer to see the immediate value of a technology solution. Through open architecture philosophies and future-proof solutions, we offer agile choices to the market to meet these expectations.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR THE FUTUREFor decades, Topcon has built its position to address these needs. We have the technology that customers can seamlessly integrate into their workflow to experience immediate results and the vision to innovate the solutions for the future. ■

All form release agents are not the same! Many products on the market include recycled oils and petroleum by-products with high VOC content that are bad for the environment, give inconsistent results, and discolor concrete surfaces.

CRESSET CHEMICAL CO.What makes Cresset Concrete Release Agents different?

1. Cresset form release agents are made from 100% virgin ingredients with exacting formulas for consistent results with no staining.

2. Cresset Concrete Release Agents are “chemically-active”; formulated to deliver clean, sharp separation at the molecular level. Design details on the concrete surface will be a true mirror image of the form, formliner or mold with sharp lines and minimal imperfections on finished concrete. Most form oils are considered “barrier releases” creating separation by putting a soapy film on form surfaces. Barrier releases do their job but can create bugholes and result in poorly-defined concrete surfaces.

“Formulated from high-grade materials to produce consistent, predictable results—each Cresset product excels in specific applications, comes with a limited warranty and is dedicated to the concrete contractor’s needs.”

3. Cresset’s form release agents are among the most environmentally friendly products in the industry. We produce architectural quality release agents for all types of concrete production with very low VOC ratings that comply with federal, state and local environmental regulations.

4. At Cresset, creating the world’s best chemicals for concrete production is our passion! To help you achieve the best results, we provide technical assistance by phone, internet and onsite and have complimentary training videos.

Cresset products are sold at concrete supply stores and distribution centers throughout the United States, Canada and other locations around the world. ■

Diamond Roll Up Door, Inc. began manufacturing dry freight roll up doors for the

transportation industry in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, in 1991. In January 1996, Diamond was acquired by AM Group, which introduced aluminum shutter door products to Diamond’s current line of products. AM Group has operations in the United States, Europe, and Australia.

In January 2005, AM Group acquired Dover Roller Shutters Ltd in England. Dover was the original manufacturer of aluminum roll up doors both in England and United States for the fire and emergency vehicle industry. Diamond, under the Dover Roller Shutters brand name, currently supplies aluminum shutters from its own product lines,

as well as the original N30 door originally supplied from England. All manufacturing is conducted in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Add up all of the advantages the Lura Screed System offers:

• The tubes can couple together. This makes it easy to transport and a contractor needs fewer tubes to customize the screed to a wide range of pour widths.

• The time and labor-saving attachments. Pivot for circular pours, Adjustable Curb Runner, Wet Screed Shoe, etc.

• It can deliver very high floor flatness numbers just like a Laser screed but for a lot less money.

• Can strike off sloped pours as steep as 40 degree while going downhill . Laser screeds,Truss screeds, and wet screeds can’t do any type of slope.

• Hoseless and Cordless. No contractor likes dragging around hoses or cords around on the job site to hook on everything possible.

• Guaranteed to be the straightest tubes on the planet that deliver the flattest floors possible with tubes that are trued to 17/1000 or better over 20 ft. This will result in happier customers, and over time, you will get more jobs because of the quality you are delivering.

• It takes less than 3 minutes to learn how to use it. So easy to use you can put two inexperienced crew on it and they will deliver a flat slab if your forms and screed rails have been set properly.

• A contractor will pour flatter slabs with fewer crew and faster than they ever did before. This will improve your bottom line.

• The Ergonomic design will save on the crew, so they will be fresher at the end of the day, week, year, and career. This will help you retain your good

employees, which are getting harder to come by.

• The value of a tool is measured in how much money it will make you and how long it will last. If you use the screed the way that it was designed, it will easily outlast heavy steel tubes with features like Riser Wheels and Form Runners.

We will be introducing a NEW curb profile roller at the next WOC in Las Vegas. ■

J Lin Corporation DBA Multivibe has been serving the concrete industry with quality products

since 2000. Based upon a construction background, Multivibe has become a leader in creation of new and innovative equipment for the concrete contractor.

Multivibe leads the industry with the largest selection of vibratory screeds with option of either one or two handles. The Multivibe vibrating power screed (MVPR100H) was created for the contractor to get stronger and flatter concrete slabs. It has now become the contractor’s choice for screeding equipment. This unit is lightweight, easy to use, and will vibrate a 24 ft screed bar. No tools are required to adjust handle height for the worker’s preference. This allows the contractor to perform quality work with less fatigue. A kickstand is attached for idle time. The powerful vibrating head, which

features sealed bearings and a fully enclosed eccentric, produces excellent compaction. The unit is powered by a Honda GX35, 4 Stroke, 1.6 hp engine. An electric model is available for jobs not permitting gas powered equipment. Multivibe also offers the Screed Buddy. This tool lets you screed without vibration offering the benefits of the MVPR100H. You can still stand up and screed when vibration is not necessary.

Multivibe offers both magnesium and aluminum screed bars. Both box/triangle and pan float designs are available.

Placing concrete where vibration is not required, the Multivibe line of Wildcat Roller Screeds is second to none in the concrete industry. Offering four models (including electric); Multivibe has the equipment for super flat floors. Less labor intensive, it is like having a screed and power rake rolled

into one. This is the equipment of choice for placing pervious concrete. Gas models are powered by Honda and have variable speed control.

Multivibe also offers the Hummer line of vibrators. Both shoulder strap and harness options are available. The high quality, durable, totally sealed vibrator heads are provided in both 1-inch and 2-inch diameter to satisfy most any job requirement. Rubber coated heads are also an option.

For those contractors placing stamped concrete, Multivibe offers the PT300 Power Tamp and recently introduced a line of super strong bull floats.

Whether the job is only a small backyard project, or a multimillion dollar venture, Multivibe can provide the best equipment at the best price for your job requirements. ■

In its 10th year of production, Granger, Indiana-based NO RAMP Trailers continues to

develop new product for the Construction and Rental Equipment Industries. Their injury eliminating trailers continue to grow in popularity and offerings.

With no heavy ramps that lead to pulled back muscles, smashed feet, and severed fingers, the NO RAMP Trailer design provides an extremely low-approach angle, which prevents equipment damage as well.

Additionally, the simplistic patented design allows for equipment to be loaded-or-unloaded, with-or-without a tow vehicle being attached, saving workers valuable time and money.

The simplistic design rotates torsion axle(s) via a hydraulic pump w/electric assist motor and a self-contained battery, which turns the entire deck of the trailer into the ramp of the trailer, providing a 3-degree approach angle.

“Avoiding workers’ comp claims and law suites are a priority to the industries we serve,” says company owner

Ron Williams. “With the variety of heavy equipment that our customer base routinely hauls, the exposure to workplace injuries is of great concern.”

Scissor lifts, forklifts, compaction rollers, and skid steers are some of the equipment that works perfectly

with NO RAMP Trailers. The NO RAMP Trailer lineup offers trailers

GVWR up to 21,000 lbs. GVWR, with Carrying Capacity ranging from 2,000 lbs. to 15,000 lbs.

Standard features include an oversized systems box with internal and deck side LED lighting for storing tools and tie down chains, adjustable Bull Dog coupler and safety chains, LED lighting, mechanical locking mechanism, stake bed pockets with full parameter rub rails, and an auxiliary receiver for the mounting of the optional winch.

In addition to its injury-eliminating NO RAMP Trailer line, the company produces a full line of Scissor Lift Covers to protect that equipment from the elements. ■

REDI HAUL TRAILERS, INC.Fairmont Steel Products, Inc. now known as Redi Haul

Trailers, Inc. was founded in 1969 by Clayton Leach. Fairmont Steel Products manufactured aircraft tow bars,

concrete forms (used in pouring concrete for sidewalks, steps, and bridges), tractor cabs, and job shop metal fabrication in an 8,400-square-foot building.

In 1973, the company ventured into an entirely different product. They introduced to the agricultural market a Gooseneck Grain Trailer, which was under the trade name of Redi Haul. This trailer was the primary product until 1978 when diversification in the trailer market started taking place with the introduction of a line of Skidsteer Loader Trailers for the industrial and construction market. This line of trailers is known today as Equipment Transport Trailers.

In the late 70’s, the company decided to expand the trailer line and soon became well known in every aspect of the trailer manufacturing business. They started building small utility trailers to sell to the rental industry, both national and independent rental stores. As expected sales increased and after seeing the demand grow for quality trailers, they concentrated on setting up dealers in the Midwest, (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota, and Nebraska).

With the “Redi Haul Trailer” becoming well known in the industry in September of 1981, Fairmont Steel Products, Inc.

changed its corporate name to Redi Haul Trailers, Inc. to better identify the company as a quality trailer manufacturer.

In 1984, the company completed an expansion project, combining the two plants under one roof. With the continued growth of the company, Redi Haul Trailers completed another expansion in 2005. The company purchased a building just south of its current location (1205 N. Dewey Street), and moved the “Finishing Departments” across the street in November 2006. The Finishing Plant contains many departments: paint prep, paint booths, wiring, and lumber. The main plant has the machine shop and the welding department along with the offices.

Redi Haul Trailers, Inc. is employee owned and more than a manufacturing plant. They see their trailers through from start to finish, plus after the trailer is in the hands of the user, they have a customer service department that is able to help with any problem that may occur with your Redi Haul Trailer. All trailers (more than 100 different trailer models) are backed by a 2-Year Structural Warranty.

The Midwest remains Redi Haul’s core market but the company now has a presence in all 50 states using a combination of its dealers, Redi Haul’s traveling salesmen based in Fairmont, and independent factory representatives.

Clayton, the founder, has always said, “You do whatever it takes to get the job done.” That statement still holds true after 48 years. ■

SPIN SCREEDScreed Support System Reduces Fill Volume by 85%

Spin Screed has developed and made available to contractors a screed

support system that reduces the fill volume by 85 percent when compared with a pipe screed. The flat bar screed support system uses a plastic chair set on top of rebar driven to the proper grade. Instead of the contractor screeding off the top of a pipe, they screed off of the top of a flat bar. After the bar is removed, the small void left in the concrete is easily filled by simply bull floating the area. There is no need to fill, and this produces a fast and flat surface every time. A video of this screed support system is available on the Spin Screed website: www.spinscreed.com

Seventeen years ago, Joe Churchill, an experienced concrete contractor, developer, and builder, invented the first light-weight roller screed to serve the needs of his own

construction business. He called the roller screed the Spin Screed and trademarked the name after becoming convinced that the Spin Screed he had just invented was better than any screed on the market. After 17 years of production and steady growth, the Spin Screed can be found on some of the biggest projects in North America and 16 countries around the world.

Big name contractors like Kiewit, Flatiron, TIC, and others, as well as countless small contractors, have discovered the benefits of the

Spin Screed and put it to work on their jobs. The Spin Screed has been chosen to work on some of the biggest construction projects in North America, including the widest suspension bridge in the world and the world’s longest floating bridge.

Put the Spin Screed to work on your job and begin to reap the benefits of this amazing screed. ■

For almost 40 years, Towmaster has earned a reputation for building products that garner top-tier respect, admiration, and longevity. Our company takes pride

in the products we build for our customers.

Towmaster started building equipment and utility trailers in the late 1970’s. We started with a couple models in a few hauling capacities but soon grew to build more and more styles. As construction equipment evolved, so did Towmaster trailers.

Like any other product, there are many ways to design and manufacture a trailer. Towmaster chooses to build trailers that are stout, durable, and long-lasting with a heavier frame and beefier components. We choose to build trailers that will haul loads safely, giving the hauler peace of mind.

Towmaster makes over a dozen trailer styles in over 16 hauling capacities giving the customer a choice of around 65 models that are tailored to their needs. Each model can be configured with several options for a near limitless amount

of customization. We also offer our Limited Lifetime Frame Warranty on most models, assuring that if you buy our trailer, it is built to last giving you a great return on your investment.

Towmaster is a Minnesota-based company located in Litchfield, which is home to several metal manufacturers, including a division of Doosan and Custom Products, but Towmaster is one of the largest employing more than 160 skilled people.

Towmaster also designs and builds truck bodies found on hundreds of Minnesota plow trucks and contractor trucks throughout the state. Hundreds

of trucks a year are produced and sold through Towmaster, and we have well-earned respect in the plow truck community with our quality and craftsmanship.

Towmaster continues to earn a reputation for top-tier quality products. Our trucks are sold throughout Minnesota to the municipal markets, and our trailers are sold nationwide through a network of hundreds of equipment dealers. Find out more by going to www.towmaster.com. ■

Collomix GmbH was founded in Gammersheim, Germany, in 1974. The initial plan was to

provide the right paddle design for small batches of any jobsite material being mixed. Most “small-batch” mixes involve four bags of material, or less, so this was a solid, but overlooked market.

PROPER TECHNIQUEAt that time, small-batch mixing involved little more than a stick in a bucket. There was little understanding of the techniques that are required to properly and thoroughly mix a given material. Some materials should be mixed from the top-down, others should be mixed bottom to top, and still others from side to side. Each of these methods requires a different configuration of paddle for the best mixing performance. Over the years, these designs were tweaked and improved. Designs were also modified to accommodate different quantities of material as well.

POWERING THE PADDLESStill later, hand-held mixing machines were added to power the paddles. Most users found that if a drill was used, it tended to overheat and burn-out, because they were asking the drill to do tasks that it was not designed to handle. With a purpose-made motor and gear box, this issue is alleviated.

AUTOMATIC MIXERS To accommodate larger batches, automatic mixers were introduced. These mixers work without the need for an operator. With this line of mixers, Collomix can mix: concrete, mortar, floor-leveling, and many complex materials. Each of these machines is also easily transported and is on wheels for movement on the jobsite.

HAND-HELD SMALL BATCH MIXERSAt present, Collomix offers the Xo Series of Hand-Held Small Batch Mixers. They are the fifth generation of this style of mixer. This series features a quiet, smooth-running motor, stainless steel gears for long term reliability, and a 2-year warranty to back it up.

In addition, the paddles are held by a Hexafix, a patented quick-couple system that is unique to the industry. In 2018, Collomix will introduce a new member to the Xo family. It is Xo10 nc, which is a battery powered hand-held mixer. With cordless tools becoming a requirement on the jobsite, this product will soon be a “must” for contractors.

AUTOMATIC MACHINE CATEGORYIn the automatic machine category, Collomix will also offer new products to address growing needs in the marketplace. First up, is the LevMix, which is made to mix floor leveling materials, both underlayment and overlayment. Proper mixing in this category means “no lump or clumps” as well as no air bubbles. All of this is accomplished on a wheeled base and a tip-n-pour chassis.

HEAVY-DUTY ALL-METAL MIXER There is now an increasing need for mixing heavy materials as well. To address this, the company is introducing the TMX 1000. This heavy-duty all-metal mixer is designed to power through concrete, aggregate and terrazzo. The mixer is built on a hand-truck chassis, with a trap door dispenser for ease of use.

HANDLING DUSTThere are also a variety of “real-world” issues that Collomix is addressing with new products in 2018. Dust on the jobsite is not just a concern, but an OSHA issue as well. To deal with this, Collomix is introducing the Dust-Ex extraction tool. This mounts on the side of any bucket. When attached to the appropriate vacuum, dust is greatly reduced on the jobsite.

NO MORE BUCKET SPINWhen mixing, everyone had the issue of bucket spin. To alleviate this issue, contractors have tried to stand on the bucket, pinch it between their legs, and other ineffective means. Collomix is introducing the Mix-Grip to solve this, for good. The Mix-Grip will clamp nearly any size bucket firmly, allowing the user mix thoroughly and completely. ■

CARNIE CAP

CONSTRUCTION ACCESSORIES, INC.

Construction Accessories, Inc. is the manufacturer of the patented JackJaw® line of stake, post and rod pullers. JackJaw extractors make a safe and easy task of pulling

concrete form pins, stakes, “T” fence posts, string line stakes, utility ground rods, sign posts tent stakes, and more. With a single pump of the handle, most stakes will break loose. The patented jaw and lever mechanism pulls stakes straight up out of the ground without bending them, keeping expensive stakes straight for hundreds of repeated uses. Pulling straight up is easier, because it eliminates side loading and reduces strain on the operator’s back. The jaw mechanism provides a positive grip that prevents back and shoulder strain that results from the whiplash of other pullers. Tilted stakes or posts are no problem. Just align the puller with the post and pump. JackJaw pullers are available in four sizes, and more than 40 models. They are made of heavy gauge steel plate and tubing to withstand every day jobsite use. Made in the USA. ■

For more, visit www.jackjaw.com.

Safer impalement protection and ease of installation are hallmarks of the Carnie Cap impalement protection system. They are national OSHA compliant and

CAL-OSHA approved. The caps are easy to use and only two caps are needed per 8 feet of rebar (3 per 8 feet in California). They’re incredibly cost effective; instead of having to purchase a cap for each rebar, you can use far fewer pieces and still get better protection. They’re rarely knocked off or lost, so neither money nor precious time searching your jobsite for lost caps is wasted. Plus, these caps are reusable. Carnie Caps are made in the USA and shipped in boxes of 100.

COMING IN 2017!! Our new and improved patented Carnie Caps will make installation and reuse even easier! ■

COMPANYPROFILESUNIVERSAL REFINER

Universal Refiner Corporation (URC) is a small to mid-size company that has many strengths. URC began building stationary grinders for the sawmill and pulp industry in

1980. In about 1984, its first portable unit was built, which was possibly the first such unit in the world. In the late 1980’s, URC’s production moved more toward the portable recycling market.

In 1990, URC recognized the need for a large infeed opening, portable grinder to replace the troublesome hammermills called tub grinders.

Since about 2000, URC has been developing and marketing the H.A.W.G. (Hypocyclonic Action Waste Grinder) models. This new design surprised everyone with its ability for its size and cost and is now firmly established in the market place.

URC has now turned its attention to its larger machines. The R-MAG MODELS are its most powerful, productive, and efficient grinders yet. ■
