Angel Cathedral.
SYMBOLISM OF THE HOLY DOOR
“I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.” John 10: 9
John Paul II stated the Holy Door ”…evokes the passage from sin to grace which every Christian is called to accomplish.”
Pope Francis wrote, “the Holy Door will become a Door of Mercy through which anyone who enters will experience the love of God who consoles, pardons, and instills hope.”
The passing through the Door symbolizes an experience of conversion from the state of sin to the state of grace; an entrance into a new way of life. The door is Jesus Christ.
