Gruma was born in May 1949 in Cerralvo, Nuevo León, with the first plant producing nixtamalized corn

flour in the world

Mission Foods’ plant in California, which is currently the No. 1 brand

Gruma internationalization begins, and under request of the

Government of Costa Rica, Gruma enters the corn flour market in that

nation.

Gruma acquires 10 plants in the United States, where it builts its

first corn flour mill, giving birth to Azteca Milling.

In the same Country, Gruma acquires

Guerrero, a brand loved by Mexicans.

In 1994 Gruma makes initial public shares

offer within the Mexican Stock

Exchange.

Gruma strengthens its presence in Central

America and expands its operations in

Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador

Exchange with GMK.

Gruma opens its first plant of tortillas on the European continent,

in Coventry, England, conquering the English palate with its famous
