Suggested Itinerary:
Kleinburg to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre
A. Stop by Kleinburg Main St (kleinburgvillage.ca) on Islington Ave. and view the variety of beautiful heritage buildings.
B. Visit the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the inspiration behind this tour. McMichael is home to thousands of legendary Canadian art pieces by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, aboriginal groups, and more. Enjoy the thirteen exhibitions, floor-to-ceiling windows, and beautiful lush forest surrounding the gallery. Explore the outdoor hiking trails and the Ivan Eyre Sculpture Garden as well.
C. Stop for a picnic or a hike around the scenic Boyd Conservation Area.
D. Grab some ice cream or chocolate-covered strawberries from the boutique-styled The Ice Cream Shop at Market Lane Shopping Centre. Try some sweet desserts from Ccs Creation.
E. Browse the local, organic produce, baked goods, jams, barbecued food, and more at the friendly, big-hearted Woodbridge Village Famers Market. Open: Mid June-Thanksgiving, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
F. Wine-enthusiasts must enjoy the delicious Ontario wines from Magnotta, a local, family-run winery. Try Rosanna Magnotta’s world-class sparkling icewine and red wines.
G. At Rutherford Rd and Creditstone Rd, there is a rich variety of group entertainment venues. We suggest Sky Zone Trampoline, Reptilia Zoo (please see the feeding schedule at reptilia.org), Area51 Laser tag | Planet Play, and Archery Games.
H. Rest at Mackenzie Glen District Park1. The wide open space includes well-maintained picnic spots, a playground, and a splash pad. Use the facilities and refuel with a fun picnic lunch. Public facilities are also available at Maple Community Centre2.
I. Nature’s Emporium is the place to go for organic food including hot entrees, a bakery, and a juice bar. Started by a passionate family in the 1990s, this grocery store provides a wide range of food options and products that will suit your every need. Additionally, try some delicious Italian gelato, French macarons, and other sweet desserts at St Phillips Bakery.
J. Engulf yourself in the lifestyles of early Canadian settlers of the 1800’s at Black Creek Pioneer Village. Learn about Canadian pioneer history from the historical buildings and costumed guided-tours. Experience a day in pioneer life by taking a Walk into History. Visit blackcreek.ca for tickets and attractions.
K. Try some glow-in-the-dark indoor mini golf at Putting Edge Mini Golf or dominate arcade games and enjoy the sports bar at Dave & Buster’s. For an authentic Irish pub experience, have a drink at Dub Linn Gate Pub.
L. Take a break with a refreshing beer from Lake Wilcox Brewing Company (1033 Edgeley Blvd).
