WHAT IS AN ELECTRONIC RESOURCE? Australian National University calls them

“electronic information repositories. Some are collections of electronic journals, some are just indexes, some are collections of electronic books or multimedia publications.”  (ANU, 2011)

COMMON QUESTIONS ASKED Can I access the resources from home?Yes as long as you have an internet connection. But remember if the resource has “available within CIT only” you need to be physically at a CIT branch.

I am having trouble trying to access the online resources and I get a message telling me I cannot connect at this time or that there are too many concurrent users.

Too many people may be trying to access the resources at once. Wait a little while then try again.

ONLINE RESOURCESDatabases: CIT provides access to a number of subject specific and general

databases.

eJournals : CIT subscribes to ejournals that are available for your access. You can identify what dates the library holds by looking at the

information next to the title

eBooks: ebooks are electronic books. You can access a few useful titles from the Online Resources page

Websites: The online resources page provides links to some external websites that

have proved useful for CIT students

Australian content All items with this symbol include Australian based information

Keywords: This area includes terms that you will find useful to search by including their Dewey number

New books: This area allows you to quickly see new titles relevant to your studies

Short loan items: This area lists the titles that your teachers have placed on a shorter lending period, in order to ensure all students have access to the information

Reference books: This area identifies some reference items that are specific for your course
