Abracs brand new for 2017 X-Tech Tile and Porcelain Materials Blade has now replaced the standard Continuous Rim Tile Cutting blade from our range. The new blade is thinner for improved speed and accuracy, has a strengthened core for stability & precision and features the all important X-Tech cutting rim which gives efficient cooling throughout the cut as well as leaving a very smooth surface on the application material. Blades which do not feature the X-Tech design simply cannot compete when it comes to Tile and Porcelain cutting. The blade is suitable for a wide range of materials and is extremely popular in the

industry. After many months finalising development Bruce Bellinger our resident product expert tested the blades on a wide range of applications under test conditions and has reported the following. “The new blade is a massive step up in performance and lives up to its Expert rating. For a Diamond Blade that is only 1.7mm thick for the 115mm and 2.2mm thick for the 180mm & 230mm sizes they are extremely rigid due to the reinforced raised centre. This leads to a very precise and clean cut which is perfect for not chipping expensive tiles. The “X Tech” design on the profile of the segment has multiple benefits. It helps

keep the blade cool but the main benefit is it leaves an almost polished finish as it cuts. The blade also has cooling holes adjacent to the segment as an additional cooling feature. I have used this blade on a wide variety of materials including Porcelain, Marble, Sandstone, Ceramic, Limestone and Slate, it performed incredibly with no splitting or chipping on any material, just a consistent straight and clean cut. The blades also come with a 25.4/22mm reducer pre-installed adding to the versatility of the blade so it can be mounted on a hand held grinder or a tile cutter ” Find the full range on page 51 of our 2017 V4 Catalogue.

After much planning, we were at action stations to complete the NEW demo and test area...

With big plans for product videos and further in-depth product testing & development to be completed, we started to execute plans for a brand new demonstration zone. Designed to be used as a demonstration area and test zone, this area, once finished, will act as a stage for the Abracs brand and the product range. The area would create an Abracs stylized workshop fit for testing products and pushing them to their limits.

It’s times like these where having a warehouse filled with cutting equipment really helps!

From an empty warehouse corner, our newest company asset is born. Introducing the Abracs ‘Test Zone’ featuring state of the art equipment, fixtures and fittings. The area has now been transformed into a product testing paradise! Managing Director, Rob Jeffery talks about the project “I would like to start by saying a big thank you to the team for going above and beyond with this project. This will undoubtedly benefit us all at Abracs by giving us an exclusive area in which we can really experiment with our product development under regulated conditions as well as conducting in-depth product training and demonstrations for our customers.”

Abracs advent promotion vouchers kindly donated to a very worthy cause...

We would like to take this opportunity to say a few words about the generosity shown from Rick and the team at Supplyrite during the festive period in 2016. Supplyrite (based in Telford) decided to do something a little different with the Abracs ‘12 Days Of Christmas’ promotion - After placing various orders throughout December, Supplyrite accumulated over £170 of retail vouchers & decided to donate them to local children’s charity Hope House which offers support and care for children suffering from terminal illnesses. Supplyrite makes frequent donations to the charity throughout the year and Director Rick Cousins said “Hope House really is an amazing project, I have been notified since the vouchers donation was used to purchase new bedding for the children”.

“We offer a range of services including respite and end-of-life care at our two hospices and/or within the family home, and support such as counselling and

advocacy. Bereavement support is offered to all children, young people and family members for as long

as is needed.”

After much anticipation our Export Manager Paul Cockerill took Abracs overseas once again as we exhibited at the Bouwbeurs construction fair in Utrecht, Netherlands.

“The fair was a big success, the increased brand exposure on the European market really helps when it comes to getting our name out there to potential customers overseas. The Export success from the show has been incredible”
