The Bad News

• The ICT industry consumes 6-10% of the world’s energy

• The ICT emits 2-3% of CO2 emissions (equivalent to that of the aviation industry)

• HiTech lifestyles create increased energy demands and GHG emissions

• As demand for ICT increases, it is vital that the industry takes step to reduce its carbon emissions
