Green Freight India: Phase 1

Objective of this phase:

Developing the methodology, by making modifications to the Green Trucks Toolkit (UNEP TNT toolkit) as per Indian needs and new target users

Phase (1): Methodology Development

Source: GFI, 2013

I. Development of Methodology/Toolkit to calculate CO2 emissions by freight operations :

a. To be based on sound understanding of the Indian road conditions, vehicles and key behavioral traits of Indian truck drivers.

b. Creation of a toolkit based on existing best practices and internationally adopted standards c. To be able to suggest how the identified thematic areas (based upon market research on available methodology) will impact the overall GHG emission and fuel usage.
