Bye Bye Blackbird wins three awards

Premiere Picture’s Bye Bye Blackbird has started successfully on the festival circuit. The film won three awards in the official competition at the Taormina Film Festival.

The film industry magazine, Variety, in their review of Bye Bye Blackbird at the festival stated;

“Ravishing images and a stand-out central performance by Charlie Chaplin’s grandson James Thierree mark Robinson Savary’s debut feature ‘Bye Bye Blackbird’”.

The film will next appear at the International Film Festival of Tokyo in October and will feature in the World Cinema category at the Montreal Film Festival in September.

The girls boarding school thriller, Out of Bounds, is currently on release on DVD in the USA, Germany, UK, Australia, Thailand and a number of smaller territories.

Great British Films Releasing is hoping to capitalise on Sophia Myles’ rising status. The actress has two Hollywood movies released in the next six months – ‘Art School Confidential’ and ‘Tristan and Isolde’ and there will be renewed efforts to market Out of Bounds in relation to these films.

Summer Rain

Negotiations are underway to release Summer Rain on DVD via the Eureka DVD label. Under this arrangement, it is intended that the retail version shall come out boxed with a CD of the exciting Brighton bands that provided the popular soundtrack.

Director Jonathan Glendening is currently preparing the extras that may consist of a Director and Writers commentary, Male and Female commentaries and 25 minutes of deleted scenes, Cast Auditions, TV News spots, ‘The Making Of’ and ‘Summer Rain goes to Hollywood’ and ‘Summer Rain goes to New York.’
