Computer Supplies Available at Bookstore

Many of the computer supplies previ­ously ordered from the Computer Center should now be ordered through the Univer­sity Bookstore. These include unformatted and formatted 3.5- and 5.25-inch diskettes and computer printer ribbons for the IBM Quietwriter, Proprinter, Proprinter XL, Okidata Panasonic, and Hewlett Packard Desk Jet models. Computer paper should still be ordered through the Computer Cen­ter.

Questions regarding computer supplies at the bookstore should be directed to Michelle Hahn, extension 3164.

Development Office Address Information

The Development Office, which recently moved to the Riverfront Plaza Building, has received its own four-digit zip code. The address is 55 Campau Avenue N.W., Suite 50, Grand Rapids, 49503-2664.

1991 Football Season Opens September 7

The 1991 football schedule includes 11 games, according to Athletic Director Michael Kovalchik.

The Lakers, who have IA/On 24 of their last 25 regular season games, will play five home games this fall, including the Septem­ber 7 season opener against St. Joseph's College. The game will mark the debut of new Head Coach Brian Kelly, who replaced Tom Beck. Beck is now an assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame.

Other home games will be held Septem­ber 14, September 28 (Family Day), Octo­ber 12 (Homecoming), and November 2 and 16.

Season tickets, which cost $25, will be available beginning Thursday, August 1. For information on purchasing tickets, call extension 3259.

New Faces at GVSU The Science and Mathematics Divi­

sion has appointed new directors for the School of Health Sciences and the Physical Therapy Department. Unda Bond has been named acting director of the School of Health Sciences. Bond has been with GVSU since 1986 as an associate professor of nursing and coordinator of the baccalaure­ate nursing program. Jane Toot, the new director of Physical Therapy, was formerly a professor, division chairperson, and a director of the Center for Creative Aging and the Childrens' Center, at Endicott Col­lege in Massachusetts.

WGVU/WGVK-TV and WGVU-FM, 88.5 have appointed Jan McKinnon to the newly created position of underwriting manager for the stations. McKinnon will be

The Human Resources Office has appointed Barbara Jo Jourdan to the position of compensation and employment manager. Jourdan was formerly a self-em­ployed human resource consultant, and is an adjunct management faculty member at Davenport College. She previously 1A10rked for St. Mary's Health Services, Home Insur­ance Company, and Foremost Insurance.

The University Bookstore has appointed Michelle Hahn as a new staff member. She will assist departments in filling supply orders.

Faculty and Staff Sketches Sandra Portko, associate professor of

psychology, was a member of a delegation from Grand Rapids that recently visited the city of Bielsko-Biala, Poland, to explore establishing a sister-city relationship between the two cities. The delegation met with various city leaders and representatives from education, health, business, child care, and the arts.

Laura Salazar, professor of communi­cations, wrote an article titled "Aruba, Fes­tival of the Open Heart," which was pub­lished in the Spring 1991 issue of the Theatre Canada newsletter. Salazar was appointed to the board of the North Ameri­can Regional Association of the Interna­tional Amateur Theatre Association.

Ram Singh, professor of social work, received notification that his paper, titled "Beyond the 'Either-Or' to 'Neti Neti' and 'Both/And' Perspectives: An Approach to Family Therapy," was published in the Oc­tober 1990 issue of the Journal of Social Work.
