How can I access the TLF Digital Objects and Digital Resources?
• Go to the Digilearn page. You will need to login using your edumail (TO number) login and password.
• Select search
• Click on the title of the learning object or resource you want.You will be given an address in an orange box. COPY and PASTE this address into the browser
• Alternatively you can Download the resource/object by adding it to Cart below (does not cost)
Ways to find what you’re looking for on Digilearn
• Searching (different ways)

• Showcases (on TLF webpage-use title as search term)
• Download Cart (zipped objects)- to unzip: right mouse click-extract to folder

Stephen Heppell talks about now as a ‘learning age’ where we need to ‘build recipes locally to reach a target, using what we know works locally.’
tlf material as entry point Yr 5...all I wanted the kids to be able to do was to say "How do you look
after an area - how do you look after the environment? What steps do you take?"
I used Old Bernie's Story first to contextualise it - put it up on a data projector like this, sat (the kids) down...Old Bernie talked about his pond and...how there used to be birds here and how there were lots of trees, and these days, it's not looking like it used to.
(This) led on to (discussions about) how to fix up Old Bernie's Pond, which was another learning object. In their groups (because kids were in groups to develop their ad campaign) they had to look at three areas, and I just made one of them environmental. So to promote their areas, they'd have to look at an environmental idea.
And this...learning object did it, because they could go and fix up Old Bernie's Pond by taking things out - I think one of them was removing Carp from it, putting signs on drains...they'd just click...and the work would happen and the pond would be fixed up and gradually the pond would get better and better.

• This clip shows singer-songwriters Kev Carmody and Paul Kelly discussing the background to their song 'From little things big things grow', which tells the story of the Wave Hill walkout, a strike by Gurindji stockmen that lasted for eight years and resulted in the first successful land rights claim in Australia.
