“ The course content for the MBA program is broad based from accounting to human resources, finance to leadership. The majority of students were extremely professional to work with and I appreciated the group approach to problem solving and project work. Success in business and life requires the ability to work positively with diverse populations and teams. The constant group work served as a laboratory to develop that skill.”

— Mike Foley, MBA ’10

It also offers a path to being licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). English Program

The Master of Arts in English program at NDNU has developed into the Peninsula’s premier master’s level program, and offers two emphases: creative writing and literature. Our students’ awareness of every aspect of literature is enhanced by our analytical, theoretical, and practical approaches to literary texts. Our curriculum is unique in that core courses in writing, literary theory, and linguistics are required in addition to genre courses in lyric, drama, and narrative.

NDNU students have the opportunity to submit original creative writing pieces to the award-winning literary magazine, The Bohemian, published each year at NDNU.

Graduates of the English program become professional writers and teachers, or they use their well-honed skills in publishing, business, and consulting careers.

Musical Performance

The Master of Fine Arts in Musical Performance (MFA) program provides

intensive, professional-level training for performers in opera, musical

theatre, concert and collaborative piano performance, as well as studies

in composing and pedagogy. Programs are tailored to the individual

needs, talents, and career goals of each student. The integrated

curriculum of individual instruction, classes, workshops, and performance

prepares the qualified student for a career in the performing arts.

Performance opportunities throughout the year include opera and

musical theatre productions, concerts, cabarets and recitals, and the

programs are integrated into partnerships with San Francisco’s Pocket

Opera and affiliations with Bay Area musical theatre and concert

organizations. Alumni are performing on Broadway, national tours,

international opera festivals and national television, and are directing

and teaching around the country.

Creativity is always relevant. PROGRAMS
