  • BSD Special Programs

    LIFE SKILLS: students are referred for Life Skills programming through Brandon School Division student services.

    EAL: Crocus Plains and Vincent Massey offer programming for EAL students in Stage 1 and 2. EAL students in Stage 3+ may register at all three high schools. Programming for EAL students will be discussed during the transition process.

    Prairie Hope High School: Registration at Prairie Hope High School for students within Brandon School Division is through a referral process from the other 3 high schools. Prairie Hope programming is best suited for students who are over 16 years of age and who are pursuing a Mature High School Diploma.There is no direct entry for students moving from Grade 8 into Grade 9.

  • School of Choice – Out of Division

    If you currently live out of division and attend a BSD K-8 school, you have to fill out school of choice – out of division forms, and include them with your registration packages. (4 copies)

  • Math 10F is a compulsory course for all Grade 9 students.

    Math 10F is offered in all 3 high schools as a single semester course.

    Each high school offers full year math to students based on recommendation from their sending school teams (Grade 9 teacher, Resource teacher, Administration)

    Students recommended for full year math will receive a Math10F credit and a Transitional Math 10F credit.

    Full year math is for students who have a difficult time with mathematic concepts, students who excel in math who are looking for a math based elective should consider Math Essentials 20S (VM, NHS) or Personal Finance 20S (CP, VM, NHS)

    When students need to be assigned to their secondschool selection to ensure that the Grade 9 registrationallotment targets are met, the following guidelines willapply to the assignment of students to schools.

  • Every attempt will be made to place students at the

    school they identify as their first choice.

    If that is not possible as the population of schools are

    oversubscribed the following will be considered:

    Families requesting reconsideration of schoolplacement should communicate in writing theirrequest and rationale to both the assigned andpreferred schools by May 11, 2020.

    Students will be able to explore programming atother high school for their grade 10 year.

    Student and School Placement Confirmation toK-8 Schools and Parent/Guardians (Spring Break).

  • Bus Transportation

    Students who live within Brandon School Division boundaries areentitled to bus transportation if they live 2.4 KM or greater fromtheir high school.

    Grade 9 students who are double-registered at two high schoolsfor Vocational and/or Band programs will receive bustransportation between the two schools.
