Conversation View

Hands down – this is the feature of Gmail that I get asked about the MOST. Go to the gear > Settings > General tab & scroll down to Conversation View to turn this on/off.

Conversation View TURN THIS ON IF:

• You are constantly trying to reach inbox zero

• You view your inbox as a “to do” list & each email as a task to complete

• You like the idea of multiple emails grouped together under the same subject

TURN THIS OFF IF:

• You are cool with thousands of emails, many unread, in your inbox at all times

• You save EVERY email in your inbox (even those you copy into folders)

• You deal with emails as they come in and like to see a separation between what you have sent and received

Multiple Accts

o Pull 5 accounts into Gmailo Respond from those accountso Use 5 different signatureso Filter each one with account label

Presto! Inbox Zen! Almost …

Multiple Accts – One Inbox

I have 5 email addresses that forward into my Gmail account. I can respond out from any one of those accounts (and not look like the email is coming from Gmail).

Multiple Accts

Click on AccountsHere you can …o Change Acct Settingso Send Mail As setupo Determine reply addresso Check Mail setup

When you select “reply from the same address the message was sent to” and you are responding to email from the Gmail app on your smart phone or tablet – the same rules apply. ONLY ISSUE: signatures on some devices will not carry over to the app.

Multiple Accts – Accounts Tab

Click on Add another email address you own and the first

box pops up. Enter your name and email and keep the box

unchecked. Click Next Step.

Leave “Send Through Gmail” only if you don’t have the server

information.Click Add Account

You will have to click Send Verification to authorize & prove

that you do indeed have that email.

Multiple Accts

You have to pick a default account, but you can respond OUT from ANY of the email addresses you set-up.

Use the drop-down menu to the right of the From box and select which email to use. The signatures you set up will automatically populate the email based on your sending account.

Once you decide WHAT to filter, you have to tell Gmail what to do with it –that happens here.

Select the options you want – I use “Apply the label” often. You can create the label on the fly too (here) in case you didn’t think of that in advance.

Click Create filter AND decide if you want to apply the filter to any other messages that fit the criteria (old messages).

Google+ Gives You Google Juice

© Stefanie Hahn | All Rights Reserved | www.StefanieHahn.net | February 2015

Why Google+?Gmail users are automatically signed up for Google+. Google+ or G+ is similar to Facebook in it’s social networking features, but it also gives you a “face” on the web.

Comment on a YouTube video? Your Google+ account will appear. Attend a Google Hangout? Only on Google+.

It’s Your Google Profile +

© Stefanie Hahn | All Rights Reserved | www.StefanieHahn.net | February 2015

Public Posts are Indexed by Google

Think about the implications of that for a minute … your words, indexed on Google. Hello Google Juice!!!

© Stefanie Hahn | All Rights Reserved | www.StefanieHahn.net | February 2015

More Reasons to Google+

1. Public posts on Google+ are treated like webpages (and indexed.

2. Google+ posts eventually gain page rank. Higher PR is more exposure.

3. Social search is more trusted than regular search – so if someone you are connected to said it, it must be true …

4. Add hashtags to connect your posts to others for even more exposure
