Features of Your Classroom Landing Page

1. Stream:The Stream is the social hub of Google Classroom. This is where announcements can be made by the teacher. Students, if enabled, are able to share resources or ask questions. Any assignments created on the Classwork tab are announced on the Stream

2. Classwork: The classwork is where assignments/questions/course work is listed. You can organize this in multiple ways by creating topics,etc.

3. People: The list of students and/or instructors in the class (you can invite co-teachers) .

4. Grades: Where you can see and edit students grades (this part is optional, details on slide 23)

Sharing a file in Google means that it places a copy of the file in another person’s Google Drive. This is used when you need to collaborate with others or share information.

Note- if a student shares an assignment, it does NOT mark the assignment as completed or turned in Classroom.

Share vs. Submit

Submitting a file/assignment in Classroom provides a copy directly to the Classroom for easier access to grading. It is also time-date stamped to ensure work is completed on time. Once a student submits, the ownership is transferred until it is returned by the teacher. This ensures that a student can not make changes to the file/assignment.
