SHOPTILL YOUDROP!Another important development forGoldies will be the opening of our firstGoldies Charity Shop which we hope willbe in the Bath area before Christmas. Thisproject will be in partnership with theDorothy House Hospice and everyone livingin the Bath & North East Somerset or Wiltshire area will know about DorothyHouse and the wonderful work they do.For those reading this outside the area,

The Dorothy House Foundation was setup in 1976, based at the Bath home of itsfounder Prue Dufour a woman of vision, determination and deep faith. She saw aneed for care of terminally ill patients intheir community, rather than in hospital. In 1995 the Hospice moved to Winsley, just outside Bath and was able to offertreatment within the spacious, purpose-built In-Patient facilities and beautifulgrounds in addition to care throughoutthe community. They have continued tobuild on and develop services, supportingincreasing numbers of people from earlier stages in their illness and the range of services has expanded – but thefundamental commitment to care hashardly changed since those early days, back in the 1970's.Dorothy House runs a highly

professional retail operation with 27shops. Goldies, through this partnershipwill benefit from their wealth of experienceand Mike Richardson, Goldies chair ofTrustees said;“ With Dorothy House we are now looking

for our first location. A Goldies Shop willgive us a presence in the community and,if successful, we hope to introduce moreshops across the Goldies area in the yearsahead, and we will need all the support wecan get from our Goldies supporters infinding stock to sell. We also hope thatsome of our Goldies in the area will feelable to give some time during the week tocome in as volunteers in the shop.“This really is a BIG Goldies step

forward. If you need to know more, if youcan help, please contact Grenville on01761 470006.”
