I must admit I was jealous to him at first, thinking that he receives all the attention I am receiving  before he was born. After some time, I realized that I should not be jealous, because he’s my brother and our parents love us all without favoritism. After that realization, I tried to understand my little brother’s shortcomings and why our parents put the blame on me if my little brother has caused some trouble. I can’t say I accepted it all but I tried. Another eight years after my little brother’s birth, another blessing came    our youngest brother, Lance, was born. Being matured enough, I can say I took care of Lance more than my brothers have taken care of him because I feel regretful for being jealous at Junjun before and for not being a good brother. With Lance, I can somehow compensate for all of shortcomings and for being a selfish brother to Junjun. More than two years ago, my father went to Saudi Arabia to work. Before he got this job, he was an electrician in our community. Earning a minimum wage made us have a hard time financially. That’s why even if it’s hard on our part, we have to let papa go. Now, Lance had  just turned four and I’m proud to say that I’m still taking care of him, especially these times that my father is far from home. At least Lance would always feel that he has a father working hard even far from home just to provide our needs and he also has three brothers who are all willing to take care,  protect and love him always. So presently, I am 16 years of age. My father, Rodolfo Sr. as mentioned, is working as an electrician and cable splicer in Saudi Arabia and my mother, Amorlina, is the one taking care of us. I have three siblings: Abner (the eldest), Rodolfo Jr. (after me) and Lance Emmanuel (youngest). Having no sister makes our brotherhood strong and we swear to take care of each other, always. Unlike my siblings, I am the one who resembles my father’s looks the most. I am only 5’2” in height, I have black hair, fair skin, big eyes and petite size. People say my father looks just like me when he’s at my age but grew taller after he turned 18. If my Lord God would like to become an electrical engineer someday, to help the family that has raised me. To me, helping them is my top priority. MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Back in the year 1997, my father rushed to the hospital as he was called by my aunt. He

was told that her wife’s finally going to deliver their second baby boy. Everyone outside the deliveryroom was uneasy but very excited to see me come to life. After one hour, the doctor came out, told

everyone that my mother delivered a very healthy baby boy. My father, together with his sisters jumped

out for joy and entered the room happily. They were all happy to see me. June 2, 1997  –  the exact date

of my birth in Parañaque Metro Manila, it was the day I knew I have brought joy to our family. I am

given Rod Kristian for a name, Rod from my father’s name (Rodolfo) and Kristian from the word

“Christian”. I have an older brother which is a year ahead of me, Abner. Since I was born, I have always

been close to my brother because of our very close age gap.

At the age of five, we moved back to Ormoc City from Manila since we were originally

from Ormoc City. I used to be my mother’s favorite for more than four years until my brother Junjuncame. I must admit I was jealous to him at first, thinking that he receives all the attention I am receiving

before he was born. After some time, I realized that I should not be jealous, because he’s my brother and

our parents love us all without favoritism. After that realization, I tried to understand my little brother’s

shortcomings and why our parents put the blame on me if my little brother has caused some trouble. I

can’t say I accepted it all but I tried. Another eight years after my little brother’s birth, another blessing

came –  our youngest brother, Lance, was born. Being matured enough, I can say I took care of Lance

more than my brothers have taken care of him because I feel regretful for being jealous at Junjun before

and for not being a good brother. With Lance, I can somehow compensate for all of shortcomings and

for being a selfish brother to Junjun. More than two years ago, my father went to Saudi Arabia to work.

Before he got this job, he was an electrician in our community. Earning a minimum wage made us have

a hard time financially. That’s why even if it’s hard on our part, we have to let papa go. Now, Lance had

just turned four and I’m proud to say that I’m still taking care of him, especially these times that my

father is far from home. At least Lance would always feel that he has a father working hard even far

from home just to provide our needs and he also has three brothers who are all willing to take care,

 protect and love him always.

So presently, I am 16 years of age. My father, Rodolfo Sr. as mentioned, is working as an

electrician and cable splicer in Saudi Arabia and my mother, Amorlina, is the one taking care of us. I

have three siblings: Abner (the eldest), Rodolfo Jr. (after me) and Lance Emmanuel (youngest). Having

no sister makes our brotherhood strong and we swear to take care of each other, always. Unlike my

siblings, I am the one who resembles my father’s looks the most. I am only 5’2” in height, I have black

hair, fair skin, big eyes and petite size. People say my father looks just like me when he’s at my age but

grew taller after he turned 18.

If my Lord God would like to become an electrical engineer someday, to help the family

that has raised me. To me, helping them is my top priority. I may not be their best son but they are the

best parents for me. I would also try to help my cousins who need financial and moral support. I hope

that by trying to be a good son, I have set as a good example to my brothers, my cousins and even to our

community. Again, I am not really the best son a parent could have nor the friendliest person in the

community. I may have lapses but I know God knows how much I regret those things and how much I

am trying to be a better person every day. In becoming an electrical engineer, I plan to help my family

and the community if I still can –  in

every way that I know I can.
