God Moves in a Mysterious Way!

If someone had told you that our small congregation would need $350,000 to restore our church and parsonage, it would have been dismissed as impossible.

And, truth be told, there were discouraging moments. We launched the capital campaign by applying for grants seeking financing. Each application included a detailed description of the project, pages and pages of competitive bids, historical information and an overview of our ministry. It was an arduous task. The outcome: Every grant application submitted to a variety of organizations was denied.

Clearly, God had a plan other than our plan. God wanted our faith to grow beyond our expectations. So, God tested our faith, and in due course we have learned to trust God. As a result, through the efforts of our members and our wonderful neighbors in the Bay Shore-Brightwaters community, we have raised over $190,292 toward our goal in five short months.

We are a living witness of a people who dare to believe God and step out by faith—we have trusted God every step of the way. We are meeting for prayer early in the morning Monday to Friday at the altar in the Sanctuary. We are fasting and crying out to God to make provisions.

Here is our newest challenge: A retired Bay Shore businessman has challenged us to raise another $25,000—and he will match it. Once again I turn to you, our small but dedicated congregation, to join in this fund-raising campaign. If you haven’t contributed yet, now is the time. I encourage you to approach businesses and leaders in the Bay Shore-Brightwaters community and ask their support.

“God moves in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform. He plants His footsteps in the sea and rides upon the storm.” (William Cowper, 1773)

Our God is an awesome God! In His grip,

Pastor Wendy

EASTER CELEBRATIONS

Beautiful decorations, glorious music,

and a wonderful message of hope and

deliverance were shared on Easter

Morning. Thanks to all who participated.

May God meet you at the point of your

need, today and forevermore!

WE GOT A WHIFFENPOOF!

Each year, a group of rising Yale seniors are

selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the world's

oldest collegiate a cappella group. This year,

that number includes Bay Shore UMC’s own

Kwasi Enin (back row, left), who with the other

Whiffs give over 250 performances around the

world, including one April 14th

in Patchogue

attended by many from his Church family.

Kwasi’s gig as a performer and Associate

Business Manager for the Whiffs lasts until

September when he resumes his studies in

Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental

Biology. Congratulations Kwasi!
