This will not be easy learning to become pro-active vs. reactive
You need to change your behavior which takes 30 days before it will become a habit
Just reviewing your goals and accomplishments every morning will make a huge difference
Over time you will find that the 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon returns hours
Once you finish your review do a save as and name the spreadsheet tomorrows date
Now you have your planning workbook ready to be utilized the following morning
This also gives a workbook for everyday which is excellent for timely reviews for yourself
or with your manager
1) Click on the goals tab and fill in what you want to accomplish in each time frame
Start with your 5 year goals and work backwards
Daily: Diet, Take vitamins, Drink 10 glasses of water, etc., Prospect, Etc.
Weekly: Workout, Read, Praise Subordinates, Etc.
Monthly: Number of contacts, closings, meetings, Etc.
1 Year: At the end of the year what do you need to accomplish to consider it a
success
5 Year: Where to you want to be in 5 years
2) Every morning before you start your day click on the accomplishments tab and review them
Next before you start your day click on the goals tab and review them
Now click on the daily blueprint tab and fill it on from top to bottom
Any items that don't relate to one of your goals get rid of
Priorities: Your priorities for the day
Projects: Projects you need to keep in front of you
Batched Items: Tasks you can combine to avoid interruptions, (email, phone calls, etc.)
Time Wasters: Small talk, errands, losing focus, anything that interrupts your daily plan
5 Minute List: Items you can accomplish in a couple minutes, when you find extra time
Notes: A place to jot down items you don't want to forget
What Worked: When you review at the end of the day what worked well
What Didn't: When you review at the end of the day what didn't work
