Most business waste 20% of
the resources that they use
![Page 7: Go green presentation gregg latchams](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042714/554f18f6b4c905723a8b4aaa/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
What difference can savings make to your bottom line?
If your turnover = £100,000And 10% of this is profit = £10,000Your costs currently amount to 25% = £25,000So, if you reduce your costs by 20% = £5,000 savedNow your profit is £15,000, which is equivalent to a
50% increase in turnover!
![Page 8: Go green presentation gregg latchams](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042714/554f18f6b4c905723a8b4aaa/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)

And how does saving £££ save the environment?
Cost = Consumption = Carbon

Spend nothing…save LOTS
• Use a broker to make sure you are on a competitive utility tariff – can save up to 30-50%
• Switch off appliances rather than leaving them on standby could save you around £30 a year.
• Walk/cycle over driving• Electronic over print
![Page 20: Go green presentation gregg latchams](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022042714/554f18f6b4c905723a8b4aaa/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
Spend a little…save a LOT
• LED Bulbs• For 8 lamps, running 8 hours per day

Capital spend must stack up…
Payback period– This is the length of time that the capital cost of a project
is recouped by the saving in expenditure by that project– E.g. total cost £10,000– Annual saving = £2,000– Payback = 10,000 / 2,000 = 5 years– This doesn’t account for other savings, such as increased
productivity or decreased maintenance
And include other considerations e.g. capitalequipment cost; delivery; installation; buildingalterations; staff training; decommissioning; disposal
