Main Trends
Adaptive Lighting
• The complexity and functionality of xenon adaptive headlamps continues to advance, in conjunction with new “Glare Free” high beam technology which promises to be especially popular in the marketplace.
• With adaptive LED headlamps, each LED sub-module illuminates a portion of the road ahead. Light can be distributed electronically depending on the ambient conditions, thereby achieving adaptive functionality, such as Dynamic Bend Lighting, without the need for expensive swivelling mechanisms etc
Low Cost Xenon
• Regulations state that an automatic headlight range control system and a headlamp washer system are compulsory for systems producing over 2000 lumens, so new 25-watt xenon headlamps outputting just 2000 lumens obviate the need for these (although, in practice, automatic range control is still being fitted for safety reasons).
