17 NOVEMBER,2005 , EURACTIV :QUOTE : .....For centuries, Turkey and Russia havebeen rivals for regional supremacy. Recently, the twocountries have realised that friendly relations are inthe interest of them both. Accordingly, co-operation

rather than rivalry appears to dominate their ties. Thisdevelopment has been welcome by the EU, which seesthese countries as the two largest imponderables on

the European horizon......The general understanding is that Russia is a European

country while Turkey belongs to Asia, despite the fact thatthe two vast countries both span the continents of Europe

and Asia (although they no longer share a border). The reason for the above distinction is that in both countriesthe majority of the population as well as the capital city are

located on the continent where they are respectivelyassigned....... UNQUOTE.

    17 NOVEMBER,2005 , EURACTIV :

QUOTE : .... In December 2004, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoganpaid a visit to Moscow before Russian President Vladimir Putin reciprocated witha trip to Ankara in January 2005. In November 2005, Putin attended theinauguration of a jointly constructed Blue Stream natural gas pipeline in Turkey. This sequence of top-level visits has brought several important bilateral issues tothe forefront....

... Turkish companies are present in significant numbers in Russias construction, retail and brewing industries. Russias investment in Turkey is worth $350 millionwhile Turkeys investment in Russia totals $1.5 billion.

The two countries consider it their strategic goal to achieve "multidimensional co-operation", especially in the fields of energy, transport and the military.Specifically, Russia aims to invest in Turkeys fuel and energy industries, and italso expects to participate in tenders for the modernisation of Turkeys military.

In the strategic energy sector, the two countries are in agreement to implement

large-scale projects, some of which compare with the Blue Stream gas pipeline, which was officially inaugurated in November 2005. Among other developments,Russia will increase gas supplies to Turkey and will allow Russian companies toengage in gas distribution in Turkish territory. Talks are also underway on ways toincrease Russian electricity deliveries to Turkey.....UNQUOTE.

BBC NEWS 14TH JULY,2008 : QUOTE : .... A top Turkish prosecutor hasbrought charges against 86 people allegedly involved in a coup plot.

Aykut Cengiz Engin said those charged included leading figures from the army, business and the secular press.

The charges follow speculation about a shadowy group of hardline nationalistsdetermined to act in what they see as defence of Turkey's secular values.

Tensions have been rising in Turkey amid efforts to close the ruling party overalleged anti-secular activities.

The Constitutional Court is considering a case against the AK Party, in which it isaccused of aiming to introduce Sharia law in Turkey, in contravention of thestrictly secular constitution.

The Turkish prime minister and president - both AKP members - are named in thatcase and could be barred from office. They and the party reject the charges, whichthey say are part of a campaign against the party....* UNQUOTE.

    THE VOICE OF RUSSIA , 16TH MARCH,2011 :

QUOTE: ... Russia is the second biggest trading partner of Turkey, and Turkey is theseventh biggest trading partner of Russia. At a summit in Moscow Wednesday, whichcoincided with a session of a high-level bilateral cooperation council, the sides lookedinto possibilities to take their economic partnership to even more impressive heights.

We hear about this from President Dmitry Medvedev: "As strategic partners in all fields, Russia and Turkey are exploring ways to sharply

increase their trade turnover. In 2009, this amounted to almost 40 billion dollars. In thecrisis year of 2010, to just 25 billion. But with the crisis behind, we can quickly ramp it upto 100 billion dollars a year."

The major fields of Russian-Turkish cooperation are oil, gas, metals, construction, telecommunications, farming, tourism and now also nuclear electricity generation.Russia is to build the first nuclear station in Turkey, in Akkuyu close to the coast of theMediterranean Sea.

"The situation in Japan poses questions about the safety of nuclear plants. The answer isthat a nuclear plant can be safe, but only provided a safe location, a safe design andskilled operators of it. In fact, the modern nuclear industry can solve energy problems ina way that is highly economical and environmentally-friendly into the bargain," saidPresident Medvedev.....UNQUOTE.

QUOTE : ...... 1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince ofMeshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

3And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chiefprince of Meshech and Tubal:

4And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth,

and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts ofarmour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handlingswords:

5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

6Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all hisbands: and many people with thee.

    7

Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that areassembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

8After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into theland that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is broughtforth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. ....
