Your Ideas Welcome for New MakerSpace

Preparing for the unveiling of the CentralLibrary in Spring of 2017, we invite yourinput on one of the most exciting newfeatures — the addition of a MakerSpace.

The MakerSpace will be designed forexpert makers and hobbyist crafters of allages. We will be offering a wide array ofinstructor-led workshops, self-led making, and drop-in services.

Staff have been visiting MakerSpacesthroughout Los Angeles to explore success-es upon which we can build our program.

Some of the amenities that we are con-sidering are computers, 3D printers, soft-ware for design and animation, industrial

sewing machines, laser cutting apparatus, leather and textile crafting supplies, special-ty crafter tools, jewelry making suppliesand equipment, paper painting suppliesand equipment, a video production boothwith cameras and accessories, and audiomixing and production equipment.

Our only limitation is space so we want to ensure that the design conformswith what is most needed in our community. Help us build our MakerSpaceby sharing your ideas with Sharon MannGarrett at [email protected].

We look forward to hearing from you.
