Prof JL Helberg (Jaap), emeritus professor of the TSP, has passed away on 15 July 2019. Prof Helberg was the minister of Rustenburg-Noord/Elandskraal (1954-1958), Krugersdorp (1958-1961), professor Hammanskraalse Teologiese Skool (1961-1970) and professor Teologiese Skool Potchefstroom (1971-1993).

KENNISGEWING IN DIE KERKVERBAND

Ons maak met groot dankbaarheid teenoor die Here bekend dat Klassis Pretoria Suidwes op 8 July 2019 die besluit van die Gereformeerde Kerk Rietvallei bewillig het dat lidmate van die Engelssprekende wyk van Rietvallei oorgaan tot afstigting om ‘n nuwe selfstandige kerk, Reformed Church Tshwane (RCT), te vorm. Ds. ID de V Potgieter van Rietvallei is as eerste konsulent aangewys. RCT se huidige lidmate is woonagtig in verskeie voorstede van Petoria en aanliggende gebiede. Die nuwe kerk sal voorlopig steeds van die fasiliteite van Rietvallei gebruik maak vir gemeentelike aktiwiteite. Die afstigtingsgeleentheid sal DV op 28 July 2019 in die kerkgebou van Rietvallei plaasvind. Die classis contracta vergader om 16:00 en word gevolg deur ‘n erediens om 17:00. Lidmate van ander kerke wat die geleentheid wil bywoon moet asseblief hulle inligting voor of op Woensdag 24 July 2019 aan die administratiewe beampte van GK Rietvallei by admin@gkkrietvallei.co.za deurgee. NOTICE TO THE REFORMED CHURCHES IN SOUTH AFRICA Giving the glory to our Heavenly Father, we can announce that Classis Pretoria South West, on 8 July 2018, confirmed a decision of the Church Council of the Reformed Church Rietvallei to approve the secession of the English speaking members of the Rietvallei to establish a self-sustaining church, Reformed Church Tshwane (RCT). Rev. ID de V Potgieter from Rietvallei had been appointed as first consulent. RCT’s members are residing in various suburbs of Pretoria and adjacent areas. RCT will initially continue to make use of the facilities of Rietvallei. The secession ceremony will (DV) take place on 28 July 2019 in the facilities of Rietvallei. The classis contracta will meet at 16:00, followed by worship at 17:00. Members of other churches who want to attend are welcome to reply to the admin officer of RC Rietvallei at admin@gkrietvallei.co.za not later than Wednesday 24 July 2019.
