We Help Inspire and Prepare Youth to Become Leaders Junior Achievement Waterloo Region (JAWR) is a member of JA Canada, and part of JA Worldwide, the world's largest charity (active in 100+ countries) devoted to educating youth about business and the opportunities it can provide. In 1970 JAWR was created, then begun to inspire and prepare our youth to be successful in a changing global economy. JAWR programs are delivered by volunteers from the business community aimed at bridging the current gap in the curriculum on the topics of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness. JAWR inspires youth to be leaders and provide students with opportunities to develop skills that will help them succeed in the future.

On September 12, 2019, XCG attended the 28th Annual Putting for Potential fundraising golf tournament held by JAWR at Galt Golf and Country Club in Cambridge, Ontario. Through participation with Bronze Level Sponsorship and a 4-some team, XCG assisted in allowing JAWR to deliver Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and Work Readiness programs to 60 JAWR students. XCG is proud to support this local organization. For more information about how you can get involved with JAWR visit their website: http://www.jawr.ca/

We Raised Money and Awareness with a Movember Campaign

Movember is over and the moustaches are gone but our contributions to men’s health will continue to save lives forever. In 2019, the XCGrowers team raised a grand total to $2,557! XCG started participating in Movember back in 2013 and since then we have raised over $16,000 and have grown dozens of luxurious moustaches. We saw some remarkable moustaches and crushed the Move campaign logging over 130 kilometres.

The donations will help support projects and programs focused on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention and will help stop men from dying prematurely. Too many men ignore the symptoms and signs that something is wrong until it’s too late. If you are a man reading this (or are next to one), put the responsibility of your health into your own hands, get informed and see your physician for an annual check-up. Early detection is and always will be a major component in your long term health, along with choosing a lifestyle that optimizes your well being.

We Supported Epilepsy South Central Ontario XCG has a long-standing tradition of collecting donations for charity at our holiday party. This year XCG Kitchener staff contributed more than $280 for donation to a local charity. This year the funds collected were donated to Epilepsy South Central Ontario. Epilepsy South Central Ontario is a non-profit charitable organization that provides education, information and support to families and individuals. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons living with epilepsy. For more information, please visit http://epilepsysco.org/
