DESCRIPTION
Many of you have had GIS in your agencies for many years. You realize GIS is an excellent tool for mapping and identifying locations. But, what else can you do? You can use your GIS to monitor population growth, to analyze locations, for litigation, emergency response, change detection, as well as make beautiful maps. Maps are way better than lengthy reports. We will discuss ways to take GIS beyond mapping and address points. We’ll discuss methods that prove that GIS can a valuable decision making tool. You already have a rich collection of data. Plus, you may have already invested a bunch of money in your GIS infrastructure. How can we visualize information that makes since to decision makes and our general public. How can you get reasonable ROI on your GIS? Can we get GIS in the hands of those than can benefit from such a powerful tool? The goal of this talk is to have you walk away thinking, “I didn’t think you could use GIS like that.”TRANSCRIPT
