For By Grace Are You Saved Through Faith; And That Not Of Yourselves:

It Is The Gift Of God Not Of Works, Lest Any Man Should Boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which

God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:8-9-10 KJV

Gift Of GraceThere is a place called Calvary,

Not so very far away,Where souls in bondage are set free…

As they humbly bow to pray.No other place in all this worldCompares to this holy ground,

Abundant blessings there unfurl…As new life in Christ is found. Many have come to Calvary,Surrendering heart and soul,

There at the foot of that old tree...Where lost sinners are made whole.

It’s a real place in history,And a real place in our hearts,

Where we can bow before our God…And receive life He imparts.

Every soul who comes to this place,Heart broken, tattered, and torn,Receives amazing, saving grace…

As a new creature is born.Oh, come, my friend, and be made whole,

The Savior will set you free…You will find healing for your soul…

· Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow,

considering the end of their conversation.

Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Hebrews 13:24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

How Should I Pray For The Preacher?

1) THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS: And For Me

The story is told of a little boy who couldn’t play outside because it was raining. His father, who was trying to take a Sunday afternoon nap on the sofa, became annoyed. “Go to the other room son: Daddy wants to sleep. Find something out there to play with.” “Like what?” “Anything,” snapped the father. “There isn’t anything.” replied the lad. Grabbing the newspaper, the man tore out a page with a large map of the world printed on it. With the scissors he cut it into dozens of odd-shaped pieces like a puzzle. “There, see if you can put it together, and don’t bother me till you’re done.” The father thought his problem was solved, but ten minutes later there was a tug on his shirt. “You can’t be done yet!” But there on the floor was the neatly reconstructed world. “How did you do it?” he asked. “Easy,” said his son. “A man’s picture was on the back, and when I got him together right, the world was right.”

Piecing together a world torn by hatred, envy, greed and selfishness is far more complicated than fitting together a paper puzzle. But it must begin with man….with you and me. We need a new heart. And that is exactly why Jesus came to this earth He died on the cross to pay sin’s penalty, break it’s power, and make us right with God. Every person who trusts Jesus as Savior and Lord is one piece of a broken world that is being remade to fit God’s ultimate plan.

Many make the tragic mistake of trying to put themselves back together, or straighten out their own lives, only to experience failure. Only God can do that. All we are able to do is surrender our lives to Him and let Him make a new person out of us…the Bible refers to it as being born again. Jesus said as recorded in John 3:7 “Ye must be born again.” That is the only way your life will ever be straightened out. The alcoholic can quit drinking, but he is still a drunk, the rogue can quit stealing, but he’s still a thief, the untruthful person can quit lying, but he’s still a liar…..only Jesus can make you a new person…. He’s the only one who can take away the guilt of sin. You can reform, but He can transform. You can make an effort to clean up your life, but He can give you a new life….He can wash you as white as snow. Isaiah 1:18 tells us, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

At the time of this writing there are “Holy Wars” in many places throughout the world, which are not holy in any respect. To slaughter good people, mass murders, bombings etc. are in no rational sense “holy.” The God I know and serve does not approve of such. In many places, such as Iran, the Sudan and India, to name the name of Jesus Christ is a death sentence. The very name, the very person who can make all things right and straighten a crooked and perverse world is rejected and even hated in the name of some religion. This world is in a terrible shape and the sins of man is the total cause. The longer and farther we go the worse it gets.

One day when Jesus returns He will complete the puzzle, and we will be like Him. Then we will serve Him in a new heaven and a new earth. Oh, glorious day!

II Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The world is looking for better methods, but God is looking for better men.

I am thankful for . . .

The partner who hogs the covers every night, because he/she is not out with someone else. The teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching tv,

because that means he/she is at home and not on the streets. For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.

For the mess to clean after a gathering, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends and loved ones.

For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.For my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am in the sunshine.

For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, andgutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech.

For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been

blessed with transportation. For my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.

For the lady behind me in church who sings off key, because it means that I can hear. For the pile of laundry and ironing,

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Will Your Name Be There?

The day will soon be coming we'll all stand before the Lord. God will hold the Book of Life where all the names are stored. You'll look upon the Savior's face. You'll stand on holy ground

You'll kneel before the King of Kings and pray your name is foundThe time is coming, it's drawing near. It's' closer than you think

Eternal life with God above you'll either rise or sink.God doesn't care about bank accounts or gems of pearl and jade.

Your style of your home, the car you drive the money that you've madeHe's not concerned with age or looks. The color of your hair

The number of the friends you have. The kind of clothes you wear He'll ask you how you lived your life if you prayed to Him each day

If you knew He gave His life for you if you took the time to pray. He'll know about your closest friends about the books you've read

The kind of thoughts that filled your mind. On what your spirit fedHe'll take a look inside your soul He'll go beyond your pride

Your sins will be as crimson red there'll be nothing you can hideFor when you stand before the Lord, He'll see through every crack

And if you were to die today there is no turning backYou'll gaze into His loving eyes He knows the things you did

There's nothing you can keep from Him Your secret thoughts won't be hid.

So before you meet the Lord you better make it rightStart by getting on your knees kneel down to Him tonight

Get rid of all your worldly ways they'll just lead you astray Find time to walk with Jesus the Truth, the Light, the Way.

I'm telling you, it's not too late God's waiting up aboveTo add you to His Book of Life in Heaven up above

When your life on earth is over He'll take one final look When the roll is called up yonder w ill your name be in "The Book?

Drink, Steal, Swear, and Lie============================

I met this guy while I was in Albuquerque, and he has a mottohe lives by every day. He said, "Listen carefully and live by

these four rules: Drink, Steal, Swear, and Lie."

I was shaking my head No! but he then told me to listen whilehe explained his four rules. So here they are:

1. Drink from the everlasting cup every day.

2. Steal a moment to help someone who is in worse shape than you are.

3. Swear that you will be a better person today than yesterday.

4. And last, but not least, when you lie down at night thank God you live in America and have freedom.

I am not as good as I should be, I am not as good as I couldbe but THANK GOD I am better than I used to be!

Let Go

One day while climbing towards a high cliff a man slipped and fell over the edge.Frantic - he grabbed at a branch jutting out from a tree and yelled out,

"Oh, God, help me."He looked down while holding on tight and saw only jagged rocks.

Clutching even tighter to the branch he cried out again,"God...Please help me."

Suddenly he felt God's presence and heard God ask,"My son, what can I do for you?'

The man, somewhat relieved, answered,"Please God, help me. Save me."

God said quietly,"Do you love me?Do you trust me?

Do you believe in me?""Yes, yes, I love you. I trust you and I believe in you," the man shouted.

"Well, if indeed you love me, trust me, and believe in me,LET GO."

With some hesitation and another look below at the jagged rocks, the man asked,"Is there anybody else up there I can talk to?"

We often seek other answers when our real answer can only comewhen we "Let Go" of some things.

Though the above is an often-told joke, it is a true parable. So often in counseling, I tell people the same thing.

"You have got to let go. That situation is killing you.It is killing your peace, your finances, and your future. You must let go!"

Often they will inwardly feel just as the hanging man asked,"Is there anybody else that I can talk to, because I am afraidto let go? I know the situation is killing me, that's why I'mhere. I know that what I am holding on to is destined to die.I know I cannot fully live while I remain embraced with it.

But I am soooo... afraid. Afraid that I might fall if I let go."Like a person on drugs, you often must "come down" before you

can ever get back up. You must fall from one high, to rise toan entirely different type of high. You must let go of the bad

before you can ever fully embrace the good.Someone, somewhere, right now is hanging on to something that

you know in your heart is not good for you.You think the fall will kill you But It won't.

To keep on hanging on will eventually tire you to the point where you will fall. There is a big difference between falling because you hung on so

long that you lost your grip, and letting go of a thing inwisdom, obedience, and faith while there is still strength left.Wisdom whispers ever so softly for you to let go of the thing

that you know is not good for you.You need to Let Go. Now! Put your trust in God turn over all the bad things

and take hold of the good things and God will rescue from the fall.

Pray for all our children and their schools.Pray that God will keep them safe from harm.

Page10 Adam’s PageTHE WHIPPING There was a school with a class of students that no teacher had been able to handle. Two or three teachers had been run off from this school in one year by the unruly students. A young man, just out of college, heard about the class and applied to the school. The principal asked the young man, 'Do you know what you are asking for? No one else has been able to handle these students. You are just asking for a terrible beating'. After a few moments of silent prayer, the young man looked at the principal and said, 'Sir, with your consent I accept the challenge. Just give me a trial.' The next morning the young man stood before the class. He said to the class, 'Young people, I came here today to conduct school. But I realize I can't do it by myself. I must have your help.' One big boy they called Big Tom, in the back of the room whispered to his Buddies, 'I won't need any help. I can lick that little bird all by myself.' The young teacher told the class that if they were to have school, there would have to be some rules to go by. But he also added that he would allow the students to make up the rules and that he would list them on the blackboard. This was certainly different, the students thought! One young man suggested, 'NO STEALING.' Another one shouted, 'BE ON TIME FOR CLASS.' Pretty soon they had 10 rules listed on the board. The Teacher then asked the class what the punishment should be for breaking these rules. 'Rules are no good unless they are enforced', he said. Someone in the class suggested that if the rules were broken, they should receive 10 licks with a rod across their back with their coat off. The teacher thought that this was pretty harsh, so he asked the class if they would stand by this punishment. The class agreed. Everything went along pretty good for two or three days... Then Big Tom came in one day very upset. He declared that someone had stolen his lunch. After talking with the students, they came to the conclusion that little Timmy had stolen Big Tom's lunch. Someone had seen little Timmy with Big Tom's lunch! The teacher called little Timmy up to the front of the room. Little Timmy admitted he had taken Big Tom's lunch. So the teacher asked him, 'Do you know the punishment? Little Timmy nodded that he did. 'You must remove your coat,' the teacher instructed.. The little fellow had come with a great big coat on. Little Timmy said to the teacher, 'I am guilty and I am willing to take my punishment, but please don't make me take off my coat.' The teacher reminded little Timmy of the rules and punishments and again told him he must remove his coat and take his punishment like a man. The little fellow started to unbutton that old coat. As he did so, the teacher saw he did not have a shirt on under the coat. And even worse, he saw a frail and bony frame hidden beneath that coat. The teacher asked little Timmy why he had come to school without a shirt on. Little Timmy replied, 'My daddy's dead and my mother is very poor. I don't have but one shirt, and my mother is washing it today. I wore my big brother's coat so that I could keep warm.' The young teacher stood and looked at the frail back with the spine protruding against the skin, and his ribs sticking out. He wondered how he could lay a rod on that little back and without even a shirt on.. Still, he knew he must enforce the punishment or the children would not obey the rules. So he drew back to strike little Timmy. Just then Big Tom stood up and came down the aisle. He asked, 'Is there anything that says that I can't take little Timmy's whipping for him?' The teacher thought about it and agreed. With that Big Tom ripped his coat off and stooped and stood over little Timmy at the desk. Hesitatingly the teacher began to lay the rod on that big back, but for some strange reason after only five licks that old rod just broke in half. The young teacher buried his face in his hands and began to sob. He heard a commotion and looked up to find not even one dry eye in the room. Little Timmy had turned and grabbed Big Tom around the neck apologizing to him for stealing his lunch. Little Timmy begged Big Tom to forgive him. He told Big Tom that he would love him till the day he died for taking his whipping for him. Aren't you glad that Jesus took our whipping for us? That He shed His precious blood on Calvary so that you and I can have eternal life in Glory with Him? We are unworthy of the price He paid for us, but aren't you glad He loves us that much? This is a story everyone needs to know. So if you know anyone else who may be blessed by this story, please pass it on. May God bless you, and keep you safe... Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is, tell the problem how Great the Lord is! Okay, I admit it, this one brought a flood of tears......... One Day At a Time Sweet Jesus!"Sorrow looks back... Worry looks around... But, faith looks up."

Psalm 86:17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed:

because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

The Weaver

My life is just a weavingBetween my Lord and me.I cannot choose the colorsHe weaves so skillfully.

Sometimes He weaveth sorrowAnd I in foolish pride

Forget He sees the upperAnd I the underside.

Not 'til the loom is silentAnd the shuttles cease to flyWill God unroll the canvas

And explain the reasons why-

The dark threads are as needful,In The Weaver's skillful hands

As the threads of gold and silverIn the pattern He has planned.

Lord God AlmightyWho was and is and is to come

STOP BY AND SEE MIKE BERRY AND FAMILY!

KID’S CORNERBLUE ROSE

Having four visiting family members, my wife was very busy, so I offered to go to the store for her to get some needed items, which included light bulbs, paper towels, trash bags, detergent, and Clorox. So off I went. I scurried around the store, gathered up my goodies, and headed for the checkout counter, only to be blocked in the narrow aisle by a young man who appeared to be about sixteen-years-old. I wasn';t in a hurry, so I patiently waited for the boy to realize that I was there. This was when he waved his hands excitedly in the air and declared in a loud voice, "Mommy, I';m over here."It was obvious now, he was mentally challenged, and also startled as he turned and saw me standing so close to him, waiting to squeeze by. His eyes widened and surprise exploded on his face as I said, "Hey Buddy, what';s your name?" "My name is Denny and I';m shopping with my mother," he responded proudly. "Wow," I said, "that';s a cool name; I wish my name was Denny, but my name is Steve.""Steve, like Stevarino?" he asked. "Yes," I answered. "How old are you Denny?" "How old am I now, Mommy?" he asked his mother as she slowly came over from the next aisle.. "You';re fifteen-years-old Denny; now be a good boy and let the man pass by."I acknowledged her and continued to talk to Denny for several more minutes about summer, bicycles, and school. I watched his brown eyes dance with excitement because he was the center of someone';s attention. He then abruptly turned and headed toward the toy section. Denny';s mom had a puzzled look on her face and thanked me for taking the time to talk with her son. She told me that most people wouldn't even look at him, much less talk to him.I told her that it was my pleasure and then I said something I have no idea where it came from, other than by the prompting of the Holy Spirit I told her that there are plenty of red, yellow, and pink roses in God's Garden; however, "Blue Roses" are very rare and should be appreciated for their beauty and distinctiveness. You see, Denny is a Blue Rose and if someone doesn't stop and smell that rose with their heart and touch that rose with their kindness, then they've missed a blessing from God.She was silent for a second, then with a tear in her eye she asked, "Who are you?"Without thinking I said, "Oh, I';m probably just a dandelion but I sure love living in God's garden."She reached out, squeezed my hand, and said, "God bless you!" and then I had tears in my eyes .May I suggest that the next time you see a BLUE ROSE, don't turn your head and walk off. Take the time to smile and say Hello. Why? Because, by the grace of GOD, this mother or father could be you. This could be your child, grandchild, niece, or nephew. What a difference a moment can mean to that person or their family. From an old dandelion!Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God."People will forget what you said, People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

SOMEBODY'S RAISING THEIR KIDS RIGHT

One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explainevolution to the children. The teacher asked a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree outside?

TOMMY: Yes.TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?

TOMMY: Yes.TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.

TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky.TEACHER: Did you see God up there?

TOMMY: No.TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. Possibly he just

doesn't exist.A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions.

The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy: Tommy, do you see the tree outside?TOMMY: Yes.

LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?TOMMY: Yessssss!

LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?TOMMY: Yessssss!

LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?TOMMY: Yes

LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?TOMMY: No

LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she possiblymay not even have one!

(You Go Girl!) "FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT"

Don't forget to pass this on! I love this one. Everyone should send this to everyone they know, especially today with prayer restricted in schools.

Pass this on if you believe in GOD!!!!

TWO LITTLE WORDSWhy is it while we are down on our knees,

We start out each prayer, with that one word, ‘PLEASE’?The next time, in prayer, here’s one thing to do,

Start out by saying, “Dear LORD, I THANK YOU!”

Some only pray, when they ask for a gift, Others request that HE give them a lift.

Like all little children, we learn to say please. But some of us say it, with way too much ease. Try saying THANK YOU, you may be surprised,

That your prayers are answered, as you open your eyes.GOD likes to be thanked, just like we all do.

Surely that’s not asking too much from you.

So tonight, don’t ask “PLEASE,” say “THANK YOU,” instead.

You’ll feel so much better, when you climb into bed. Then tomorrow you’ll wake up, to a bright shining day.

If only you’ll remember, those two words to say.“Thank You”

Concentrate on this sentence...

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did" When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely

opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence...

"The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you." Just 27 Words:

God our Father, walk through my house and take away all my worries and illnesses and please watch over and heal my family in Jesus name, ~ Amen.

His prayer is so powerful. Does God come first in your life?

Our Shepherd

The Lord sent us a shepherd To guide us on our way, To live our lives for Jesus In each and everyday.

No matter what the problem, He has a listening ear.

And if we're sick and lonely, He's there and always near.

To us, he is so special. No words could ever say

How much he's loved and thought of. He's family, in every way.

But if you have to wonder At who this man could be,

He's our pastor, friend, and leader From now 'til eternity .

The Stairs

This morning I stood at the top of the stairs to our basementand watched my two-year-old son journey down the stairs.

He was on his way to catch his mother. He was afraid his motherwould leave without him and head for his school. I desperatelywanted to take him by the hand and walk him down the stairs.

But I knew that if I never let him do it on his own, he wouldalways depend on the balancing power of his father's hand.

Instead, I simply stayed close behind ready to move in aninstant if he appeared to fall.

With his little legs and fragile sense of balance, he could notjust walk down the stairs like an adult could. He sat down on

his bottom and scooted down the first step. Then he scooted down the second step.

By this time, his mother had made it to the garage to load theother two kids.

As I watched him scoot step by step, I was reminded of the stepsall of us have to take in life. Just like my son, we have to

take one step at a time.We step at the rate and posture where we can maintain our

balance, until we reach the end of the stairs. If we move too fast or maintain too lofty of a posture, we will

tumble down the stairs. If we move too slow or stop moving altogether, we could get left

behind or hold up the kid behind us.Looking at all of the stairs at one time looks scary, focusing

on one step at a time and conquering that step is not so scary. My two-year-old like many adults, did not know the father stood

behind him lest he fall, nor did he realize that his motherwould have waited for him to arrive.

Even though you are older than two, how are you moving alongyour stairs of life? Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace,

that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Pray For Our Country And This Oil SpillThat Has Taken Place. It will effect all of us in so

many ways. Just pray that our leaders will put more trust in God and ask Him for His guidance

to help with this devastating event.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another,

as I have loved you.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

These things I command you, that ye love one another.

John 15: 12-14, 17
