website at: https://www.butterflynetwork.com/covid-19#cleaning

Helpful Links: Sheathing Your Probe Demo Found Here List of 63 Compatible Probe Cleaners Cleaning you Apple Device To clean the probe:

1. After each use of the probe, use one of the recommended liquid saturated wipes to remove ultrasound transmission gel from the probe.

2. Disconnect the probe from the mobile device. 3. Wipe the probe, strain relief, cable, and connector with one of the recommended liquid

saturated wipes for one (1) minute and until visibly clean. 4. Change the wipes as necessary and repeat the above step until the probe is visibly clean. 5. To dry the probe, use a soft cloth, blot the lens dry. Do not wipe the lens. Dry the rest of the

probe, cable, strain relief, and connector. 6. Visually inspect the probe in a well-lit area to ensure all surfaces are clean. If the probe is not

clean, repeat the cleaning steps above. 7. Dispose of cleaning material in accordance with all applicable regulations.

⚠ CAUTIONS: Prevent any fluid from entering electrical or metal portions of the cable's connector during the cleaning and disinfecting process. Damage due to the fluid in these areas may result. Prevent any fluid from splashing on your mobile device's touchscreen during scanning and during cleaning. Damage due to fluid may result.

To disinfect the probe: After cleaning the probe, you must disinfect the probe. It is recommended that you use one of our 63 approved cleaners listed HERE.

High-Level Disinfection (HLD): It is recommended that you use Cidex® OPA by Ethicon US, LLC.

To disinfect the probe using the High-Level Disinfection (HLD) method:

1. Disconnect the probe from the mobile device. 2. After cleaning the probe, you must disinfect the probe. It is recommended that you use Cidex®

OPA high-level disinfection solution. 3. Prepare Cidex® OPA high-level disinfection solution for use per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Fill a tray or basin with the disinfectant solution at room temperature (minimum temperature of20°C) to a level allowing immersion of the probe up to the immersion line (the dashed line

shown in the figure below).

4. Immerse the probe in Cidex® OPA solution up to the immersion line and ensure no air or bubbles are trapped. Allow soaking according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

5. Thoroughly rinse the probe (up to the immersion line) by immersing it in a large volume of room temperature critical (purified) water for a minimum of one (1) minute. Remove the probe and discard the rinse water. Do not reuse the water. Always use fresh volumes of water for each rinse. Repeat this stage two (2) additional times for a total of three (3) rinses.

6. Thoroughly dry all surfaces of the device using a sterile, lint-free wipe or cloth, changing wipes/cloths when necessary to ensure the device is completely dry. Visually inspect the device to ensure all surfaces are clean and dry. Repeat the drying steps if any moisture is visible.

Resolving Firmware Updates If you experience issues during a firmware update, complete the following steps:

1. Disconnect it from your mobile device. 2. Hold down the battery indicator button on the probe for 10-15 seconds. If the device has any

battery power remaining, the battery indicator will light up for a few seconds, then turn off, then flash three times.

3. Reconnect it to your mobile device.

If this does not resolve your issue, please Contact Butterfly Support

Resolving Charging Issues Sometimes if the probe is left idle for a long period of time, the battery can become fully depleted and the probe will not charge. Often, it can be reactivated by completing the following steps.

1. First, verify that your charger is working. The iQ charger should charge an iPhone 8 or newer or

or another device that charges wirelessly. For more information about charger behavior, please

refer to the Charger FAQ. 2. After you verify that the charger is working, place your Butterfly iQ on the charger for five

minutes.

3. While your Butterfly iQ is on the charger, reset it. To do so, hold down the battery indicator

button for 10-15 seconds.

Page 11: Getting Started with Butterfly iQ Penn · 2020. 4. 4. · The Butterfly iQ™ probe is only for use with the Butterfly iQ™ App. Do not attempt to connect the probe to other ultrasound

4. Leave your iQ on its charger overnight, or at least 6 hours. Do not worry about the color of the

charger lights at this point.

5. Reset the iQ again while it is on the charger by holding down the battery indicator button for

10-15 seconds. The LEDs on the battery indicator button should flash.

6. Reconnect the iQ to your mobile device.

If you follow these steps, and your probe still has issues charging, contact Butterfly Support with the serial number on the back of your probe and your shipping address. You may be eligible for a replacement.

being scanned.

● Make sure the brightness on your screen is set to the recommended setting of 65%.

● Make sure you are using enough approved ultrasound gel.

● To determine if your probe is damaged, perform the Probe Diagnostic Test. ● If you are still not satisfied with the image quality, please submit feedback directly from the

mobile app or contact Butterfly Support. In your message to Butterfly Support, please include de-identified image examples, the preset you were using at the time, and any other relevant information.

Resolving Connection Issues: You may experience an issue where your mobile device does not recognize the iQ. If so, you might see the text "Connect your iQ" while your iQ is plugged in, or the pop-up "iQ Connection Error" might appear. To resolve this, complete the following steps.

Ensure the operating system is updated on your mobile device. 5. Delete and reinstall the Butterfly app on your mobile device. 6. Reset the Butterfly iQ by holding down the battery indicator button for 10-15 seconds, or until

the LEDs on the battery indicator flash. 7. Reconnect your probe to your mobile device.
