Athlete’s Foot
Causes: mold-like fungi called dermatophytes that thrive in damp environments. It is contagious!!!
Symptoms: Itching, stinging, burning, blisters, dryness, cracking & peeling skin
Types: Ringworm, jock itch, nail fungus
Treatments: Ointments, powders, sprays, creams, pills
Athlete’s Foot

Causes: Bacteria or ingrown hairsSymptoms:
A painful, red bump that starts out about the size of a pea Red, swollen skin around the bump An increase in the size of the bump over a few days as it fills
with pus (can sometimes reach the size of a golf ball) Development of a yellow-white tip that eventually ruptures
and allows the pus to drain out. Fever Chills
Treatments: Incision and drainage. Antibiotics.
Herpes/Cold sores
Cause : virusSymptoms: cluster of small fluid-filled
blisters that break, forming painful sores that crust and heal, itching, tingling, or burning sensation , painful urination
Types: HSV-1 & HSV-2, either can be mild or severe
Treatments: ointments, Antiviral drugs (valtrex)

Causes: exposure to chemicals that provoke allergic responses.
Symptoms: Itching, redness, swelling, progressing to blistering

Symptoms: red sores that can break open, ooze fluid, and develop a yellow-brown crust

Symptoms: Bright red areas of raised patches (plaques) on the skin, often covered with loose, silvery scales. Plaques can occur anywhere, but commonly they occur on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet, or lower back.

Keratosis pilaris
Cause: from the buildup of keratin — a hard protein that protects your skin from harmful substances and infection. Keratin forms a scaly plug that blocks the opening of the hair follicle. Usually many plugs form, causing patches of rough, bumpy skin.
Symptoms: Small, acne-like bumps, Painless, skin-colored bumps that can, at times, be red and inflamed, Dry, rough patches

something moving in the hair; itching (caused by the an allergic reaction to the bites); sores on the head (caused by scratching);
