E Product Manual updated to include Ground CT input connections If a 3-winding transformer is used,

Please configure the new setting in Winding 1(3) setup. Assign proper ground input to the winding. Please refer to table 3-2, Typical Ground Input Connections, under section 3.2.5 of the SR 745 instruction Manual for correct assignment of Ground CT input connections.

    The table is listed below.

Previous SR745 Firmware Version 5.10 Release Note

    Summary

GE Multilin issues the SR745, 5.10 release that introduces new protection feature, ease of use and set-up program enhancements. Highlights of this release include:

50G protection function for Delta winding

    Simplified Output Relay Programming

This document contains the release notes for the 5.10 release of the SR745 relays.

    Affected products: SR745

Date of release: Jul 31st, 2007

    Firmware revision: 5.10

    UPGRADE NOTICE:

This version of the firmware should only be sent to SR745 relays that are of hardware version H or greater

If users have SR745 relays with the version 5.00 firmware installed, they can download and install this new

firmware to benefit from these enhancements. If these features are not being used, no upgrading of the relays is required.

In the following change descriptions, a revision category letter is placed to the left of the description. Refer to the Appendix at the end of this document for additional details.

    Release Details

Existing features modified N Enable 50G for Delta Winding

The Ground Input (50G) is enabled for Delta winding. This will allow ground fault detection on Delta windings of the transformers. For a 2-winding transformer, the available ground inputs G1/2 is pre-assigned to winding 1 and G2/3 is pre-assigned to winding2. For a 3-winding transformer, flexibility is provided to the user to assign ground inputs G1/2 or G2/3 to a winding. One new setting per winding is provided to the user to select the ground input. By default, these are None.

    N Simplified Output Relay Programming

The output relays can now be assigned from the Protection element settings. With this new feature the output relays can be energized either from Flexlogic or from the Protection element setting. By default, these settings have no relays selected. The relays are energized on OPERATE condition of the element. NOTE*** Users can still use the Flexlogic equations to assign the output contacts without using the new feature.

N EnerVista SR745 Setup Software: Protection Summary

The EnerVista SR745 Setup software is enhanced to provide a new Protection summary page. This page lists all the protection elements on a single page and allows the user to assign output relays to protection elements.

    Upgrade paths

It is our recommendation that all customers upgrade to the latest version of SR745 firmware to take advantage of the latest developments and feature enhancements. Firmware upgrades can be easily preformed using the EnerVista 745R Setup software. This software can also convert settings files from an older version to the latest version and provides a difference report once the conversion has been completed. This Difference Report identifies new settings and additional information to assist the user during the upgrade.

    Change categories

This document uses the following categories to classify the changes.

    Table 1: Revision categories

    Code Category Comments

N New feature A separate feature added to the relay. Changes to existing features even if they significantly expand the functionality are not in this category

G Change A neutral change that does not bring any new value and is not correcting any known problem

E Enhancement Modification of an existing feature bringing extra value to the application

D Changed, incomplete or false faceplate indications

Changes to, or problems with text messages, LEDs and user pushbuttons

R Changed, incomplete or false relay records

Changes to, or problems with relay records (Oscillography, demand, fault reports, etc.)

    C Protocols and communications

Changes to, or problems with protocols or communication features

M Metering Metering out of specification or other metering problems

P Protection out of specification Protection operates correctly but does not meet published specifications (example: delayed trip)

U Unavailability of protection Protection not available in a self-demonstrating way so that corrective actions could be taken immediately

H Hidden failure to trip Protection may not operate when it should

F False trip Protection may operate when it should not

B Unexpected restart Relay restarts unexpectedly

The revision category letter is placed to the left of the change description.
