GEORGIA CHAPTER Green Manor in Union City – December 5, 2019 Robbie Johnson, President John Cunning, Treasurer Rick Jones, Vice-President Fran Cunning, Secretary Our Christmas luncheon was held at the beautifully decorated Green Manor in Union City. 23 members attended and enjoyed the special buffet including stuffing and baked ham as well as the delicious regular offerings. Tom Walton prayed the blessing. Much catching up was accomplished with an increasing noise level! Cornell welcomed those who are not able to attend regularly ~ Mike Philbrick (AL) and his friend, Siglinda from Rhode Island, and John Manning’s wife, Rosie. Good to see them all! John Cunning called for a moment of silence to remember and say a prayer for Judy and Gene Sutton, and Shirley Brady, our members who have passed on this year. Memorials were sent to the Snellville Lutheran Church for each of the Suttons and to the Salvation Army for Shirley. John restated that our Savannah reunion last April was a huge success, as was Nashville in Sept. The upcoming reunions are: Fort Worth in April and South Lake Tahoe in Sept. All were encouraged to attend. John thanked Cornell for his excellent service as President of our Chapter, then Robbie Johnson and Rick Jones were elected as our new president and VP respectively. No one volunteered for the Secretary or Treasurer positions, so Fran and John will continue to serve. Updates were given and prayers were requested for our sick members: JD Stevens (multiple surgeries with complications - in the hospital since mid-October); Joel Mendelsohn (masses recently found in his lung and near his spine); and Bill Phinazee. John then praised the Air Marshalls who donated 18 months of sick and annual leave to help our neighbor with cancer complete his 20 years to attain full retirement benefits. That led to a discussion on wills: EJ Williams recently attended a conference led by a probate judge who stated that a will signed in the presence of at least 2 witnesses and a notary is essential (in GA, if witnesses cannot be found and there was no notary, the will becomes invalid); Willie Mitchell reminded us to periodically update our wills; John Manning said it is a good idea to have life insurance on an automatic pay system in case the policy holder becomes unable to pay the annual premiums in which case the policy would lapse; Fran Cunning suggested that each spouse knows where all policies, tax returns, passwords, ,legal papers, etc. are located (shades of Donna Potts!). The March luncheon’s date and location are open. Please feel free to arrange one and let John or Fran Cunning know the details. Our luncheon concluded with the distribution of multiple door prizes. GEORGIA CHAPTER Green Manor in Union City – December 5, 2019

Robbie Johnson, President John Cunning, Treasurer Rick Jones, Vice-President Fran Cunning, Secretary Our Christmas luncheon was held at the beautifully decorated Green Manor in Union City.

Robbie Johnson, Cornell Cypress, Kim Amis, Rick Jones, Willie Mitchell, KC Jackson.
