Title Font 1

Page 6: George media planning

Font used on front coverI used this font because I personally think that it reflects my genre and speaks out to my target audience. It stands out clearly and also appears to be a worn font. This could be reflected to my target audience and the areas and neighbourhoods they live in, those neighbourhoods being run down and neglected ones.

Front cover mock upName of Magazine – my chosen name of my magazine is ‘Turn up’ I have chosen this title because I think it fits my genre well. For example rap and hip hop fans and artists themselves like to play music loud and the title ‘Turn up’ implies that the magazine is loud and lively

Genre – Rap/Hip Hop

Colour scheme - The colour scheme will vary but mainly be black, red, grey and white, each of these colours represent various tones and emotions and feelings and suit the genre well

Target Audience - 16-34

Contents page mock upLayout of contents page – The layout of the contents page will be simple but eye grabbing and will stand out well. On the left hand side of the page the main model will be the main focus, grabbing the readers attention and on the right side will be the features and page numbers. Each of these will be written boldly and stand out to the reader, making the page they are looking for more accessible and generally easier to read and understand.

Each features written out with page numbers. Features will be

written clearly and boldly, easily

accessible for the reader

Page 9: George media planning

DPS mock upLayout of DPS - the layout of my double page spread will consist of a large image of the artist. This will be placed in the top half of the page and on the lower half the article will feature and possibly some smaller images of the artist. I think this is more exciting for the reader. I think it makes the magazine look more presentable and look better. The reader will more likely read the double page spread if it is presented in this layout.

MODELS, COSTUMES,

PROPS

Page 11: George media planning

Models• When thinking for models I needed a character that would suit the genre of my magazine and

would look realistic to the target audience. I had a few people that I knew would suit the magazine and chose them to model for me. I contacted them via mobile phone. I texted them what I wanted them to do and explained why. They agreed to it. I then explained that I had the majority of the props and costume that they needed to use and wear. I used different locations for the models so had to tell each of them the time and location of the shoot and make sure I had enough time to complete other aspects of my planning stage. I eventually sorted it all out and commenced to taking the photos. I made sure each shoot had enough pictures that were of good quality so I could chose form a variety of photos.

Props & CostumeWhen organising the costumes and props I looked into what rappers wore. I did this by looking online and in magazines.BMX – I have chosen a BMX because these bikes look good and are used by the target audience of my magazine.Air Max 90 – these shoes are also an item of clothing worn by my target audience Adidas windbreaker – again like my previous items, this is the sort of clothing my target audience would wear.

Page 14: George media planning

Props & CostumeBeats by Dre – These are high tech and extremely fashionable headphones and are known all over the worldAdidas sweater/hoody – this item of clothing is again fashionable and is worn by my target audience OBEY snapback- an accessory used by many of my target audience and by rappers that fit into my magazine.

Page 15: George media planning

Choice of clothing/propsAdidas windbreaker – the reason I have chosen this item of clothing is because it can relate to the target audience, they can see that the model is like them and therefore can relate to him/her.Air Max 90 – again this item of clothing is worn by my target audience, creating a sense of relation to the model. This is also a stereotypical type of shoe worn by my target audienceBMX – BMX’s are used mainly by my target audience, the bike itself Is stylish and looks good when riding, its steering system is unique this is because the bike is meant to be a stunt bike.

Page 16: George media planning

Choice of clothing/propsOBEY snapback – the reason why I have chosen this item of clothing is because I think that it suits and is a stereotypical piece of clothing for my target audience. I have seen rappers such as Soulja Boy and Wiz Khalifa wearing this brand of hat and would therefore sell the magazine.Beats by Dre – the reason as to why I have chosen these headphones is because they are very fashionable and extremely popular with not only my target audience but by a lot of people. This will make the magazine look fashionableAdidas Sweater/hoody – I have chosen this item of clothing because it looks good and is worn by my target audience and therefore they can relate to the model and the magazine.

LOCATION

Extra appliances usedFortunately I had a scaffolding unit place in my garden. I checked numerous times for any safety hazards and I eventually established that the unit was safe and secure for me to use. I used unit to capture a high angle shot .
