Early years :1. Was born on February 25, 1943, in Liverpool, England to Harold and Louise Harrison.

2. At the age of five, enrolled at Dovedale Primary School.

3. After passing 11+, attended Liverpool Institute High School for Boys from 1954 to 1959.

3. Left high school at 16 without any qualification.

5. Around 1956, while riding bicycle, heard ‘Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel” playing nearby which raised interest in Rock n’ Roll.

6. Later in the same year father bought me a Dutch Egmond flat top acoustic guitar.

7. On the bus to school met Paul McCartney and later formed the legendary band “The Beatles”.

Activities :1. Guitarist, singer, songwriter, and music and film producer.

2. Achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles.

3. Played 26 different instruments.

4. Was the co-founder, executive producer and principal partner of HandMade Films, a position held until 1994.

5. Produced “Monty Python”(A surreal comedy group) very well.

6. Successfully mixed Indian and pop music with one another and introduced Indian instruments like sitar in western music.

7. Organized the “Concert for Bangladesh” in 1971 with Indian musician Ravi Shankar to help war affected Bangladeshis.

8. The George Harrison Humanitarian Fund for UNICEF, donated $450,000 to help the victims of Cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh in December 2007.

Personal life :1. An admirer of Indian culture, Hinduism and mysticism.2. First marriage was with model Pattie Boyd in 1966, ended in divorce in 1977.

5. Was involved in humanitarian and political activism throughout the whole life.

4. Had a great relationship with the other beatles.

3. Second marriage was with Olivia Harrison. Had one son with her named Dhani.

Achievements :

3. Honored with The Recording Academy's Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

1. Most Beatles albums from 1965 onwards contained at least two Harrison compositions.2. Released several best-selling singles and albums as a solo performer.

4. Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

5. Ranked 11 in the list of “100 Greatest guitarists of all time” according to Rolling Stone magazine.

Death :Died in 2001, aged 58, from lung cancer.

As a reflection of love for Hinduism, the body was cremated and ashes were later scattered along the Ganges River in India.
