Most of the food in our kitchens is global. Here are some examples of where common food items originate from.

Think back to the work we did in our previous lesson on “Trade”, when we sorted all the different food in our cupboards and fridges and listed where they originated from.

• Write a brief description to explain why countries trade with one another and why countries export and import goods.

• Make a list of some of the most popular items that are exported and imported in the world.

• List and name which countries produce the most coffee and sugar.

• Ext task –Can you think of any reasons why these countries produce the most sugar and coffee? Think like a Geographer!
