A. GENERAL NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VISITING THESITE AND FAMILIARIZING HIMSELF WITH EXISTINGCONDITION PRIOR TO THE SUBMISSION OF BID.ON-SITE CONDITIONS THAT DIFFER FROM CONTRACTDOCUMENTS ARE TO BE INDICATED TO THEARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY.
2. ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCEWITH THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE MUNICIPALITYTHAT THE WORK IS BEING COMPLETED. THE G.C. SHALLOBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS AND INSPECTIONSREQUIRED.
3. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FAMILIARIZINGHIMSELF WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE WORK CONTAINEDWITHIN THESE DOCUMENTS. THESE DOCUMENTSINDICATE THE FINISH DESIGN INTENT FOR COMPLETIONOF THIS PROJECT. ALL MEANS AND METHODSINCLUDING ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIRED MATERIALS,REINFORCEMENT AND ANCHORAGE SHALL REMAINTHE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE G.C. AND THEIRDESIGNATED SUBCONTRACTOR. IF DISCREPANCIESEXIST WITHIN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, THE G.C.SHALL BUDGET THE PROJECT TO INCLUDE THE MOREEXPENSIVE OPTION. DISCREPANCIES WITHIN THECONTRACT DOCUMENTS SHALL BE INDICATED TO THEARCHITECT IMMEDIATELY.
4. THE DRAWINGS INDICATE THE AREA OF THECONTRACT. ADJACENT AREAS NOT IN THE CONTRACTARE TO BE PROTECTED FROM DAMAGE DURINGCONSTRUCTION WORK. THE OWNER WILL PROVIDEWORK NOTED "BY OTHERS" OR "NIC" UNDER SEPARATECONTRACT. INCLUDE SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS INCONSTRUCTION PROGRESS SCHEDULE ANDCOORDINATE TO ASSURE ORDERLY SEQUENCE OFINSTALLATION.
5. THE ARCHITECT OR OWNER SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT ATANY TIME TO REQUIRE ALTERATIONS, ADDITIONS TOAND DEDUCTIONS FROM THE WORK SHOWN ON THEDRAWINGS OR DESCRIBED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS.ALL SUCH ITEMS WILL BE COVERED BY A REVISION ONTHE DRAWINGS OR AN ADDENDUM TO THE JOB PLANSAND SPECIFICATIONS, WRITTEN JOB ORDER AND/ORSUPPLEMENT TO THE CONTRACT ISSUED BY THEARCHITECT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPUTE THEVALUE OF THE WORK AND SUBMIT A PROPOSAL FORAPPROVAL BY THE ARCHITECT AND THE OWNER IN THECASE OF A REVISION, ADDENDUM OR BULLETIN, THECONTRACTOR SHALL NOT PROCEED WITH THECHANGES WITHOUT AN AUTHORIZED JOB ORDER ORSUPPLEMENT TO THE CONTRACT.
6. THE CONTRACTOR WITHOUT EXTRA CHARGE SHALLMAKE SLIGHT ALTERATIONS, CUTTING, FITTING ORPATCHING OF their WORK AS MAY BE NECESSARY TOMAKE ADJUSTABLE PARTS FIT TO FIXED PARTS, LEAVINGALL COMPLETE AND IN PROPER SHAPE WHENCOMPLETED. IT SHALL BE THE DUTY OF THECONTRACTOR TO VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS GIVEN ONTHE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND TO REPORT ANYERROR OR INCONSISTENCY TO THE ARCHITECT BEFORECOMMENCING THE WORK
7. THE ARCHITECT SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEMEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES ORPROCEDURES OF CONSTRUCTION SELECTED BYCONTRACTOR.
8. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE SOLELY AND COMPLETELYRESPONSIBLE FOR CONDITIONS OF THE JOB SITEINCLUDING SAFETY OF ALL PERSONS AND PROPERTYDURING PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK. THISREQUIREMENT WILL APPLY CONTINUOUSLY AND NOTBE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS. WHEN ONSITE, THE ENGINEER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWNSAFETY BUT HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETYOF OTHER PERSONNEL OR SAFETY CONDITIONS AT THESITE.
9. CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS ANDINFORMATION IN THESE DRAWINGS, CONTRACTOR ISTO COMPLY WITH ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS,INCLUDING BUILDINGS, SITE CONDITIONS AND SOILBEARING PRESSURE. ALL ERRORS, OMISSIONS ANDINCONSISTENCIES ARE TO BE REPORTED TO THEARCHITECT BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RELEASE THE ARCHITECT &ENGINEERS OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY. ANY CHANGEFROM THESE DOCUMENTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OFTHE CONTRACTOR.
10.GENERAL CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FORREPLACING ANY ITEMS DAMAGED DURINGCONSTRUCTION.
11.GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM A VISUALINSPECTION OF CONDITIONS OF ADJACENT OWNER'SSPACES & PROVIDE PHOTO AND VIDEODOCUMENTATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS FORVERIFICATION OF ANY DAMAGE CLAIMS BYADJACENT OWNER BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTERWORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
12.GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND THEIR RESPECTIVESUBCONTRACTORS TO VERIFY ADEQUACY OFEXISTING WORK PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK ONSITE. ANY ISSUES WITH EXISTING WORK SHALL BEDOCUMENTED IMMEDIATELY AND FORWARDED TOTHE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER BEFORE PROCEEDING.FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RELEASE ARCHITECT &ENGINEERS OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY.
13. THE CONSTRUCTION NOTES AND DRAWINGS ARESUPPLIED TO ILLUSTRATE THE DESIGN AND GENERALTYPE OF CONSTRUCTION DESIRED AND ARE INTENDEDTO IMPLY THE FINEST QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTIONMATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP THROUGHOUT.

B. FIRE / THERMAL:
1. IN EXIT ENCLOSURES AND EXIT PASSAGEWAYS ALLINTERIOR FINISHES SHALL BE CLASS A, FLAME SPREADRATING 0 TO 25, SMOKE DEVELOPED 450 OR BETTER.
2. IN CORRIDORS ALL INTERIOR FINISHES SHALL BE CLASSB, FLAME SPREAD RATING 26 TO 75, SMOKEDEVELOPED 450 OR BETTER.
3. IN ROOMS AND ENCLOSED SPACES ALL INTERIORFINISHES SHALL BE CLASS C, FLAME SPREAD RATING 76TO 200, SMOKE DEVELOPED 450 OR BETTER.
4. ALL FLOOR COVERINGS SHALL HAVE A CRITICALRADIANT FLUX CLASS "II".

JOINTS AND SEAMS SHALL BE SEALEDIN THE SAME MANNER OR TAPED OR COVERED WITHA MOISTURE VAPOR-PERMEABLE WRAPPINGMATERIAL. SEALING MATERIALS SPANNING JOINTSBETWEEN CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS SHALL ALLOWFOR EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION OF THECONSTRUCTION MATERIALS.
9. WHEREVER VENTS OCCUR, PROVIDE BAFFLES TODEFLECT INCOMING AIR ABOVE THE INSULATION.
10. ALL JOINTS AND PENETRATIONS ARE TO BE CAULKED,GASKETED, WEATHER-STRIPPED, FIRE STOPPED, OROTHERWISE SEALED TO MATCH FIRE RATING OFPARTITION
11. ALL PENETRATIONS OF THROUGH RATED FLOOR,WALL OR CEILING ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE PACKED ANDSEALED AROUND WITH NON-COMBUSTIBLE, UL TESTEDMATERIAL EQUAL TO THE REQUIRED FIRE RATING OFTHE ASSEMBLY.
12. ALL CONCEALED INSULATION SHALL HAVE A FLAMESPREAD RATING OF 75 OR LESS AND A SMOKEDEVELOPED RATING OF 450 OR LESS INACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E84.
13.FIRE STOPPING OF TWO INCH NOMINAL LUMBERSHALL BE PROVIDED TO FORM AN EFFECTIVE FIREBARRIER BETWEEN ALL CONCEALED DRAFT OPENINGS,BOTH VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL.
C. EXIT:
1. ACCESS TO EXIT DOORS SHALL BE WITHOUT THE USEOF KEYS OR SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE.
D. DRAWINGS/ DIMENSIONING:
1. ALL PARTITIONS AND WALLS ARE DIMENSIONED TOTHEIR RESPECTIVE FACES, INCLUSIVE OF ALL FINISHES,UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED. MAINTAINDIMENSIONS MARKED AS “CLEAR” OR “HOLD”.
