+ All our pets are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and wormed prior to adoption.+ Dogs are also heartworm tested and started on preventative if negative.+ We require a vet reference and a personal reference, plus a completed adoption application.+ We do check these references, and will not let our animals go to any homes we feel are not in their best interest.+ We charge a variable adoption fee for our pets.The Jay County Humane Society is a limited admissions shelter committed to finding good homes for stray, abandoned, mis-treated and unwanted animals. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which relies solely on membership fees, fund raisers and the generous contributions from our community. No donation is too small, and ALL donations are greatly appreciated! We now host a transport to a low-cost spay/ neuter clinic on the second Tuesday of each month.
