I. ScopeoftheBrandingGuidelines
1. TheseBrandingGuidelines(the“Guidelines”)setouttheconditionsapplicabletotheuseoftheGCFfullnameoracronym(the“GCFName”)andtheGCFlogo(the“GCFLogo”)bypartnerswhohaveenteredintoacontract/agreementwiththeGCF(the“Partners”),pursuanttowhichsuchPartnersagreedtocomplywiththeGuidelines.
2. TheseGuidelinesapplytotheuseoftheGCFNameand/orGCFLogoonanymaterial,whetherinprintorelectronicformatandregardlessoftheirformormaterial,includinganydocuments,reports,photos,designs,drawings,panels,labels,assets,equipment,andwebsites(“Materials”).
II. UseoftheGCFNameand/orLogo
3. TheGCFLogoconstitutesthecorporateidentifierandofficialsealofGCFandisaregisteredtrademarkprotectedunderrelevantinternationalandnationallawsonintellectualproperty.ThePartner’srighttousetheGCFLogoundertheseGuidelinesconstitutesanon-exclusive,non-transferable,royalty-freelicencewitharighttosublicense(onlyasprovidedinparagraph6below).
4. ThePartnersmayusetheGCFNameand/orGCFLogoprovidedthatthefollowing“Conditions”aremet:
(a) theprinciplesandcriteriasetoutinSectionIIIoftheseGuidelinesareobeyed;and
(b) thevisualandgraphicstandardssetoutinSectionIVoftheseGuidelinesareobserved.
5. ThePartnerswillberesponsible,andbearallcosts,forassessingandensuringthatsuchConditionscanandwillbeadheredto.IntheeventtheGCFNameand/orGCFLogoareusedforaprolongedperiod(e.g.onawebsiteoraconstructionsite),thePartnershallberesponsibleforperiodicallyreassessingtheConditionsandguaranteeingthatsuchConditionscontinuetobecompliedwith.
6. ThePartners’righttousetheGCFLogocanbesublicensedonlytosuchentitiesthatexecute,carryoutorimplementtheactivitiesand/oreventsreferredtoinparagraph9(b)oftheseGuidelinesandhaveacontractualrelationshipwiththePartners(the“ExecutingEntities”),providedthatanysuchsublicencemustcomplywiththeconditionssetoutintheseGuidelines.
7. ThePartnersshallrequestpriorwrittenauthorisationfromGCF,iftheGCFNameand/orGCFLogoarebeingusedforpurposesotherthanthoseexpresslyallowedunderSectionIIIoftheseGuidelines.
8. Whereusedinrelationtoactivitieslistedinparagraph9(b),thePartnersmayalsouseacaption“supportedbytheGreenClimateFund”nexttotheGCFLogo.

III. PrinciplesandcriteriafortheuseoftheGCFNameand/orGCFLogo
9. ThePartnerscanusetheGCFNameand/orGCFLogo,ifsuchuseis:
(a) inconformitywithGCFmandate,itsobjectivesandguidingprinciples,assetoutintheGoverningInstrumentforGCF.
(b) directlyrelatedto:
• activitiestowhichGCFhasprovideditsfinancialand/ortechnicalsupport,suchasprojects,programmes,readinessandpreparatoryactivitiesorothertypesoftechnicalassistance;
• eventsorganisedincollaborationwith,withthesupport/patronageof,GCF;
10. TheGCFNameand/orGCFLogocannotbeused:
(a) onMaterialswhosepurposeisthepresentation,descriptionorprovisionofinformationonthePartners(e.g.office/doorsigns,presentationbrochures,business/visitorcards,letterheads,andotherproductsofthePartners);
(b) onMaterialsonwhichthePartnershavenocontrolandwhosecontentmaybemodifiedbythirdparties(e.g.PowerPointpresentationsnotdirectlypresentedbythePartners,webplatformswithonlinefora,socialnetworkpages);
(c) onMaterialsthatbreach,ormaypotentiallybreach,ethics,publicorder,legalorsocialnorms,orhumanrights;
(d) ifitmayjeopardisethesafetyand/orsecurityofanyperson,property,facilityorassetassociatedwiththeGCFNameand/orLogo;
(e) forcommercialpurposesor,inanyothermannerwhichcouldpotentiallybeviewedbythegeneralpublicas,theGCF’sadvertisementorendorsementofspecificproducts,servicesorevents;
(f) onvehicles,oranyothermeansofconveyanceortransport;or
(g) inanyothermannerthatmayjeopardisetheGCF’sinternationalstatus,independence,impartialityorprivilegesandimmunitiesormayimplyanyriskofdiplomaticorotherembarrassmenttoGCF.
IV. Visualandgraphicstandards
A. GCFName
11. ThefullnameisGreenClimateFund.
12. Theacronymisformedfromtheinitialsofthefullname:GCF.

13. WhenreferringtotheGreenClimateFund,thePartnersmustuseeitheritsfullofficialnameoritsofficialacronym.
14. TheEnglishlanguageistheonlyofficiallanguageofGCF.Translationsofthefullnameoracronymmayonlybeusedimmediatelyafteruseoftheofficial,Englishversion.ThePartnersshouldrefrainfromreferringtoGCFasthe“Fund”toavoidconfusionwithotherinternationalclimateand/ordevelopmentfunds.
B. GCFLogo
15. TheGCFLogomaybedownloadedfromhttps://g.cf/logo-black(blacktext)andhttps://g.cf/logo-white(whitetext)
C. Sizeandplacement
16. Thesize,prominenceandplacementoftheGCFLogoshallclearlyreflectthenatureandscopeoftheGCF’ssupporttoactivitiesorevents,inamannerthatwillnotcreateanyconfusionregardingtheownership,propertyof,orresponsibilityfor,theMaterialsonwhichtheyaredisplayedorfortherelatedactivitiesandevents.
(a) Asageneralrule,whenownershipisequal(e.g.ajointlypublishedreport),thesizeoftheGCFLogoshouldbeequaltothatofthePartners.
(b) DependingonthenatureandscopeoftheGCF’scontributiontotheactivitiesorevents,theGCFLogomaybesmallerthantheoneofthePartners.
(c) Inanycase,theGCFLogocannotbebiggerthanthelogosofthePartners.
17. TheGCFLogoSHOULDNOTBEPLACED
(a) againstavisuallyconfusingbackgroundorimage;or
(b) tooclosetoothervisualelements.ThePartnersmustensurethatanyothervisualelementsareplacedoutsideoftheexclusionzone(agreyarea),asillustratedbelow.
18. TheGCFLogoSHOULDNOTBEALTEREDinanyway.(Pleaserefertotheexamplesofalterationbelow).Specifically,donot:

(a) Crop,fliporrotatetheGCFLogo.
(b) Stretch,distort,re-colour,applyfilters,oranimatetheGCFLogo.
(c) ApplyacolouredmaskoratextboxtotheGCFLogo.
D. UseoninformationMaterials
19. IftheGCFNameand/orGCFLogoaredisplayedonanyprintedorelectronicinformationMaterial(e.g.publications,studies,reports,newsletters,brochures,books,andsimilarproduct),andunlessotherwiseagreeduponbyGCFandthePartner,thefollowingdisclaimershallalsobeaddedtotheinnerpagesofMaterial:
“Theviewsexpressedinthisinformationproductarethoseoftheauthor(s)andGCFcannotbeheldresponsibleforanyusewhichmaybemadeoftheinformationcontainedtherein.”
20. Onacasebycasebasis,onrequestofthePartner,GCFmayrecommendtheuseofadifferentdisclaimer,takingintoconsiderationthetypeofMaterialandthepurposeofitsuse.

E. UseonPartners’websites
21. SubjecttotheConditions,thePartnersmaydisplaytheGCFNameand/orGCFLogoontheirwebsiteinamannerthatclearlyreflectsthenatureandscopeofcollaborationbetweenGCFandthePartnerconcerned,andthatwillnotcreateanyconfusionregardingtheownership,thepropertyof,orresponsibilityfor,thewebsite.Specifically,theGCFNameand/orGCFLogo:
(a) maybedisplayedonthewebpage(e.g.inthemaincontentorthesidebar)thatliststhePartners’collaborators,donorsorfunders;
(b) shallnotbeusedonthehomepagenorontheheadingornavigationbarofanywebsite.
V. Reportingandreview
22. OnrequestfromGCF,thePartnersshalltransmittotheFundanelectroniccopy,reproduction,orvisualrepresentationofanysuchMaterialonwhichtheGCFNameand/orGCFLogohavebeenused.
23. GCFmayreviewMaterialsreportedbythePartnersandverifytheircompliancewiththeseGuidelines,asappropriate.
24. AtanytimeGCFmayrequestanyPartnertostop,suspendorlimittheuseoftheGCFNameand/orLogoonanyMaterials;and/orsuspend,limit,orstoptheproduction,distribution,reproductionofsuchMaterials.Inthatevent,GCFandtherelevantPartnerwillconsultonanypotentiallegalorfinancialimplicationsarisingtherefrom.
VI. CompliancewiththeBrandingGuidelines
25. IntheeventthePartnerbecomesawareofanycircumstanceoreventthatmayresultintheuseoftheGCFNameand/orGCFLogobeingincompliantwiththeseGuidelines,thePartnershallpromptlyreportanysuchcircumstanceoreventtoGCF,whichmayinstructthePartnertoundertakespecificpreventiveormitigationmeasures.
26. GCFdoesnotassumeanyresponsibilityforanyloss,damage,oranyotherliabilityarisingfromthePartners’misuseorabuseoftheGCFNameand/orGCFLogo.
VII. Thirdpartymisuseorabuse
27. IntheeventanyPartnerbecomesawareofanythird-partymisuseorabuseoftheGCFNameand/orLogointhecontext,orinconnectionwith,theproject,programme,readinessandpreparatoryactivitiesortechnicalassistancetowhichGCFprovideditsfinancialand/ortechnicalcontribution,thePartnershallimmediatelyinformGCF.
VIII. Amendment
28. GCFreservestherighttoamendtheseBrandingGuidelinesatitsowndiscretion.TheamendedBrandingGuidelineswillbeavailableontheGCFwebsiteathttps://g.cf/branding.
