GCA was established in response to the Vision X – Global Reach strategy in 2007 – investment in human resource development throughout GAC
GCA has played a central role in building GAC as a learning organisation.
It continues to be a key partner in the development of the Vision Z – Global Performance Strategic Plan.

Learning Organisation TheoryA learning organisation has the following essential elements:
People continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire
Where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured
Where collective aspiration is set free
Where people are continually learning to see the whole togetherPeter Senge, ‘The Fifth Discipline’ (1990)
eLearning & Social ConstructivismSocial constructivism embeds learning in a real-life situation:“… The key idea is that students actively construct their own knowledge: the mind of the student mediates input from the outside world to determine what the student will learn. Learning is active mental work, not passive reception of teaching.” Woolfolk (1993, p. 485)eLearning brings a formalised learning process to participants who do not need to attend a centralised education point. This makes eLearning ideal for social constructivist learning – GAC employees learning alongside their regular jobs.
GAC VZ-GP Strategic PlanVZ-GP is the strategic plan for the GAC Group and is measured by its GAC TIME Critical Success Factors (CSFs).
CSF 5 is to develop ‘Motivated and Trained Personnel’ and this is where GCA fits into the picture.
GCA develops all of its courses in alignment with GAC TIME to ensure clear business outcomes.
The GAC Business Environment
Social Constructivist theory teaches us about the advantages of learning in the context of the work environment.
GCA courses are developed exclusively for the GAC context.
Course need comes from feedback throughout the Group.
Subject Matter Experts from within GAC play a key role in the design of each course.
GCA Courses

TestimonialsGCA courses give me a deep-rooted confidence about who we are and where we are headed, which clients and other contacts can almost feel in their contacts with me.
I always knew GAC was a great company when I was on the outside but now that I work here I do understand where that sense of pride and confidence I saw in GAC staff I used to meet comes from.
Jarmo Kihlstrom, Manager, International Moving, GAC Qatar (and winner of Best Participant Award at the 2012 GCA Awards)

TestimonialsFrom my perspective I see double benefits from GCA, firstly the courses are designed to fit into our daily work despite our remoteness to the rest of the GAC World.Secondly the courses expand our knowledge in different areas of the business, which allows us to remain on task in this competitive market we work in.Rodrigo De Marco, Country Manager GAC Brazil

TestimonialsI really enjoy learning in a group. Everyone contributes, reflects and shares their experience. I think this is the most important factor for GCA’s success. I get far more out of this real life experience than from the text book .
