Garth Sweet Simmental Foundation

Auction Saturday,

August 25th, 2012 CSA AGM

Truro, Nova Scotia 7:00 pm

From the Garth Sweet Simmental Foundation Auction Chair

The Canadian Simmental Association is hosting the annual charity auction in support of the Garth Sweet Simmental Foundation, in conjunction with the CSA Annual General Meeting, at the 2012 Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Simmental Show & National Young Canadian Simmental Association Classic. We hope all breeders and supporters will take the opportunity to purchase one of the many fine donated items that they will enjoy and at the same time support the youth of our breed. The Foundation raises proceeds for various CSA Projects, but especially to assist our upcoming young leaders for the Simmental Breed. We have many exciting items again this year, including two highlight features: a bred heifer, donated by Gibbons Farms, Vaughn & Cindy Gibbons; and Merit-Trax Technologies TRAX-It Livestock Manager System and Handheld Computer, donated by Merit-Trax Technologies Inc. There is also a PEI deep sea fishing adventure package, many exciting sports event tickets, artwork, semen and more. New this year, the highest successful bid of the auction and the according donor will be acknowledged as the Friends of the Foundation. This includes recognition of your business in up to 4 issues of the Simmental County! We are encouraging everyone to make this into a family event, head down early or stay longer and enjoy all the hospitality that the Eastern provinces have to offer. Children are welcome to attend the banquet and there will be entertainment provided. We are going to have a wonderful steak and lobster meal, and a lot of fun, so plan to be in attendance. Thank you very much to all who have donated items, and those who are participating in the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Simmental Show & National Young Canadian Simmental Association Classic. And a big thank you to all who will be in attendance. The best of success to all, Kara Enright GSSF Auction Chair

This heifer has genetics that has set the world on fire as Evolution progeny are creating a lot of excitement due to their muscle, natural thickness and shape. His dam is one of the most outstanding females in the breed today. The Dam’s Sire, Piona has become one of the most consistent South African bulls, uniformly stamping his calves with added pigmentation while maintaining a moderate frame and improving structure. Piona has been described as a breed changer due to his ability to put his consistent identity on all his offspring. As an added bonus she is bred to Bar 5 PFF Luke, a homozygous polled bull. Take advantage of this opportunity to add a foundation female to your herd while supporting the GSSF and the YCSA who are the future of the breed. A WIN-WIN for everyone.
