Northern Water is revamping its Conservation Gardens, and we want to hear from you
Northern Water is offering water providers, contractors, homeowners associations, the general public and anyone else within its service area the opportunity to propose water efficiency demonstration projects in the Conservation Gardens. Our focus areas include plant and turf selection, landscape design and efficient irrigation systems and management. The results of these collaborative efforts could have broad water-savings impacts in your community.
Be sure to let us know about your ideas
Northern Water plans to implement its Conservation Gardens demonstration projects beginning in 2019. To be considered, submit your ideas by July 31, 2018, and send them to Frank Kinder, [email protected]. A PDF version of the form is also available online at www.northernwater.org/ConservationGardens.
Preparations begin this fall. Those who submit ideas will be notified by Sept. 1 whether their proposals will be included.
The Conservation Gardens at a glance The award-winning Conservation Gardens at Northern Water feature hundreds of plants and multiple varieties of turf grasses that demonstrate what thrives in Colorado’s semiarid climate. The gardens are located behind Northern Water’s Berthoud headquarters, and are free and open to the public every day of the year during daylight hours.
Northern Water believes it is in the public’s best interest if all citizens understand the best practices for water-efficient landscaping for our climate. Through education and demonstrations, Northern Water is eager to help in this effort.
Lending our expertise to your projectIn addition to potentially using the Conservation Gardens to examine and showcase your water-efficiency idea, Northern Water has staff who are experts in water efficiency and landscaping, and could assist in overseeing these projects.
