THE OPPORTUNITYA start-up company in the Solar Industry engaged Gainshare to source electro-mechanical parts & assemblies in China. The company also needed assistance in selecting a U.S. based contract manufacturer.

WHAT WE DIDWorking through its network in China, GainShare surveyed the market, selected candidate suppliers, secured quotations and led the qualification of the selected sources. GainShare also led the selection of a contract manufacturer, managed the contract negotiation and qualification of the source.

RESULTS & BENEFITSThe sourcing effort in China led to 40-50% cost reductions over previous U.S. based sources. Supply chain redundancy was also bolstered through the qualification of dual sources. The contract manufacturing engagement delivered costs that were 20% less than what was assumed in the Client’s business plan.

THE OPPORTUNITYA company in the Data Security Industry contracted Gainshare to lead the selection and qualification of an outsourced manufacturing partner. Previously production was handled out of Australia and the company wanted to establish presence in the U.S. market.

WHAT WE DIDLeveraging our supplier management expertise, GainShare surveyed the market, selected candidate suppliers, secured quotations and led the selection of the outsource partner. The qualification & integration of the partner will begin in Q1 2015.

RESULTS & BENEFITSThe addition of the manufacturing partner significantly improved the design of the supply chain. Previously it was disparate and involved multiple sources. The new design brought it under one roof. Cost reduction expectations were also exceeded. The target was $10K per system. GainShare delivered $15K.

THE OPPORTUNITYA company in the Electronic Credit Card Industry was struggling to ramp production and meet Customer demand. The company engaged Gainshare to perform and end-to-end audit of their operations, to provide recommendations and to assist in implementing them.

WHAT WE DIDOver a two week period, GainShare performed the audit and generated a report that included multiple recommendations for improvement. We prioritized the operational gaps and developed project plans for addressing them.

RESULTS & BENEFITSThe project is still active, but we have implemented a new management dashboard, organizational proposals that are being acted upon, an 8D problem resolution process and several other key business process changes. Production is more predictable and has stabilized. The unfilled backlog has come down by one third.

THE OPPORTUNITYA company involved in the Medical Equipment Industry engaged GainShare to source several critical components used in a Nebulizer design. Most critical was a very low cost, yet reliable, micro-pump.

WHAT WE DIDLeveraging our sourcing expertise in China, we identified six potential suppliers, researched their capabilities, secured quotes and produced a sourcing report that included corresponding recommendations for the Client.

RESULTS & BENEFITSThe Client had previously secured $4.00 pricing for the micro-pump. GainShare delivered potential sources at $1.50-$2.00 exceeding the Clients expectations. Samples are in-route to the Client and we expect to qualify and commission two low cost sources soon.
